Well ...... As that would have been in Decmber of 03, well before we owned the place, and well before I worked there, and well before We hired our new door team and removed the old contracted one I think you can forgive us that indescretion.

However, as Logan has posted photos of you in his gallery, its fair to assume you won't be getting in here again...

I think there is a difference between someone geuninely using humour as a way of dealing with a personal tragedy, and kids trying to provoke a reaction from people on an internet message board to try and look cool

The arm thread fell into the latter category in my opinion

I'd say on average we do around 150-200 Id's per week downstairs. Of those about 75% produce a valid drivers licence or passport and the the rest have to leave.

Twice have CID visited on a Friday because some helpful soul has accused of us serving underagers, and twice have they found absolutely no Issue with it.

If anyone knows anyone underage in there please point them out and they will always be ID'd... however if its just about how people look, then I have lost count of the times I have ID'd someone who was clearly underage only to be handed a passport saying they were 20.

Also you have to remeber that people who are younger than you grow up too, I still think of my little brother being a kid, and yet he's 22. If you're 21 then somone at school who was 15 when you turned 18 is now legal to drink, but I don't think it seems like that when you see them in a bar, I know it was always wierd when I started seeing my little brother drinking in the same bar as me, even though I knew he had turned 18.

We had hoped that building a decent reputation would allow us to start to get bigger bands, that we could eventually make us some money. This has actually worked, and we recently have made 3 large bookings ......... only to have them poached and put on at the Lemon Tree by another promoter.

I think they take great pains to point out it isn't the person who has done the most good for the world, just the person who has/will have the greatest impact, either good or bad. By that criteria, he should win.

The argument used by christian fundamentalists against homosexuality is quite interesting if you read the whole book of Leviticus.

Here is a letter that was sent to someone using that passage of leviticus to denounce homosexuality:

f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. I mean, a shrimp just isn't the same as a you-know-what. Can you settle this?

g) Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here? Would contact lenses fall within some exception?

h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die? The Mafia once took out Albert Anastasia in a barbershop, but I'm not Catholic; is this ecumenical thing a sign that it's ok?

I) I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev.24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

The problem isn't with religion itself. Many people use religion to find comfort and it helps a lot of people live better more productive lives.

The problem, always, is when a minority try to control vast tracts of people to do whatever they want, citing religion as a reason to do it. This happens as much with Christian fundamentalists as with Moslem fundametalists. The only difference is that the Moslems crash planes into buildings full of unbelievers and get condemmed the world over, the Christian fundamentalists lie and cheat their way into power in the US and 'Legitametly' bomb vast numbers of unbelievers with no come back at all.

Oh and they get to steal their oil while they are there.
