I watched the whole babyshambles set from stage side.
I expected a lot of things, but not that it would be anywhere near as good as it was. I admit I was probably biased against them before they walked on stage, but if I was to judge them on that single performance I'd say he was genuinely talented.
I still maintain Up the Bracket is a pile of pish though.

I've got a few tickets left for this event if anyone wants them....

I don't know much about computer prices. I want a desktop PC' date=' mainly used for internet, photography storage and manipulation, music and some games (nothing hyper-modern and high-graphic).
Packard Bell PC
AMD Sempron 3000+ processor
512Mb DDR RAM
200Gb Hard Drive
17" Philips flatscreen monitor
DVD re-writer
keyboard, mouse
Total - 529.99 inc. vat.
cheers

Yes thats a pretty good price for a pre-build computer to do what you want it to. However it will have on board graphics which will be no use at all for 3d gaming. If you want to game then you'd probably need to buy a graphics card such as a Nvidia 6600GT for about 100.
That would mean you could play all the latest games, albeit without maxing out the graphics options.

I think we'll ALL have to remember this in future when we're all thrown out the doors at 10 next time one of our favourite bands comes to moshulu
Don't be daft. Usually a band goes on early and plays the set they want to with the encore they want to and are done by 10.15.
Last night didn't work like that.

Why was there no club night tonight? There was a fair amount of disgrunteled freshers when we arrived at the closed doors (contrary to the freshers guide). Also some bam in the pizza shop told us that "The bar staff were beaten black and blue"... what the fuck...
Town was full of wannabe pete doherty junkies tonight' date=' please never have them back in the 'deen.[/quote']
We allowed the gig to over run because it was going so well. The building wasn't cleared til about 11.45 there was no way we could clear up and re-open before 1 because of moving the PA etc so we figured it wasn't worth opening for an hour at 1 o'clock.

and some one has buugered off the Glasgow and not left details of them with us.
Neil, can you send me the banner to rob@moshulu.net and I'll get a new one done.
Thanks
Rob

I got my ticket today at around 4 at one-up' date=' phew! Can't wait!

You will be able to buy on the door at 10. We estimate around 100 tickets left on the door about 500 sold so far so it should be a good night.
We will be collecting swords and shields at the door so I wouldn't bother bringing them.

Hope this isn't breaking forum rules' date=' but what program were you using to download them from? Just interested in what they've monitored, if it's more than just the few biggest ones.[/quote']
emule which was pretty good

I'm going to have to start buying DvD's again after Universal pictures kindly requested I stop downloading movies from the internet.

Well if ye olde - now redundant - flyer rota is still down in the back of the Bassment then my number's up on the wall.
And all over the wall in the gents bogs
-
cool' date=' was that moshulu pretty much at capacity? or can you get 600 or more people in?
David[/quote']
we can do 620 according to the fire limit set by the Fire Brigade
-
There were 548 people at the gig (who bought tickets)
-
about 550 in Rossco.
-
Why don't you lot bring down some of the more obscure stuff you want played. I don't see why James would object to playing some.

anyone phoned up Bassment to ask?
Only about 400 people.
I've taken to answering the phone as 'Hello the baby shambles advice line, tickets are only available online from www.seetickets.com'

I met the Jaeger rep today.
We sell 1% off all the Jaegermeister sold in the entire UK.

I think it would be a wonderful idea. I regularly moan that I'd rather be at an ambient or jazz club (I suppose I should really fuck off to an actual jazz club then).
However' date=' I have to admit that the sort of folk who would come to a place like this would, although open-minded, probably still want totally different styles of music.
Still, even if it wouldn't be financially viable to run a whole club like this, couldn't it easily be possible to have an 'ambient' or 'chillout' night once a week or something? I'm sure if it was a weekly thing, at one of aberdeen's existing clubs or venues, there would be enough people who just weren't up for the Saturday night venture of dancing-to-music-that's-just-not-quite-right.
...I'm seeing Exodus on a Wednesday/Friday, filled with Sofas, and Tom Waits or Louis Armstrong floating out of the open windows and filling Belmont Street with hope *sigh*[/quote']
Genious Idea, now how about we repaint the back room, put in a better selection of drinks and get DJ's to play Folk/Jazz/soul/bues/funk/acoustic.
Better than once a week we could do it every night it's open, and have the music at a lower level so people can chat and hang out.
Hang on a minute..............

From 9am on the 7th September you will be able to call the Radio 2 hotline for tickets to the events listed below. The number is 08700 100 200.
stupid 8 characters

you could alarm the door, even have it cut off all the sound a big flashing light come on. That would be pretty embarassing for anyone caught using it.
-
Just come along with the confiration number on the night and pick them up on the way in.
And it is the 23rd of October, but all 600 tickets are now sold out.

I never really watched cricket but on my week off last week I found myself watching this more and more.
Tell me one thing though (as I'm not familiar with the rules too much)' date=' why did England have to "declare"? Does this mean for their second innings they had a set amount of overs? Because it seems rather pointless to stop batting when you still have a few wickets in hand.[/quote']
We had to declare because at the end of the fifth day if there are any Australians still batting then we have a draw (as happened) we declared to try and give ourselves enough time to bowl out the Aussies and win the match.
Had we not declared it would have been a certain draw.

So, if some idiot has too much to drink what would you suggest we do?
Last time I can remember the girl was asked to leave and then we went and told her friends, one of whom came out and took her to a taxi. Aside from asking them to leave and telling there friends I don't see what else there is to do.
Perhaps you'd like to leave your number so we can give you a ring to come pick up anyone who has had to much to drink.
Then again perhaps you have no real idea what happened at all, and are using scant knowledge to make unfounded claims on a message board.
-
While this was going on' date=' two 15 year old chicks slipped in and headed straight to the bar, got some drinks...
Two hours later, one of them was chucked out and left to fend for herself, incapable of walking, alone and with no clue as to where or who she was.[/quote']
Yes thats right, although we prefer to throw them out the back into a dark alley after taking their wallet and phone.

Last Saturday -
2 guys approach the door, one looks pretty young, the other looks about 21.
Doorman asks young looking one for ID and recieves a passport making him 19
Older one says 'Do you want to see my ID too'?
Doorman says 'I wasn't going to but as you're offering I'll have a look'
Doorman says 'Hang on a minute, this driving license makes you 17 for another 2 weeks'
Guy looks sheepish and shuffles off.
