  1. i thought my vocals were bit low to but everyone else said they were fine :s, but cheers Alex and Dave I enjoyed Midasuno, I didnt think I would cos i thought they'd be another of those bands that sounds like all them other whiny bands but they wasn't...in fact I thought Jarcrew would be when I saw them too but they wasn't....think it's just cos they come from wales Karloff were cool...were was all the young kids though? Monkey Boy, I've seen 4 times now and they've never played bad tho i did prefer the older stuff they played
  2. ha i know someone called kevin shields...or spanky as well called him. what a twat he was. he saw someone at the other side of window and it made him angry so he smashed the glass...weirdo

  6. how many days notice have you got to give before you cancel a practise?
  7. their my fave uk label with boss tuneage...but id hardly call the filaments, the foamers, john holmes, ye wiles, antimaniax, da skywalkers etc pop punk
  8. The best compilations are the Boss Tuneage samplers....56+ tracks for 4 www.bosstuneage.com or you can get volume 2...29 tracks for 1 from me. 29 of the best UK punk bands plus some canadian, finnish and japanese inc Annalise, Manifesto Jukebox, Scarper! etc...essential for anyone who likes pop punk!
  9. slingblade by King Liar & The Brutes...is there really any question?
  10. i guess cos its hard to come up with 10 that are punk cos then it goes down to what is punk etc ie: Pink Grease sound like New York Dolls but I dunno if i could include them, and I don't know if to include Allergo cos their metal but with a hardcore attitude...well I'll have a go but in no particular order: FREAKS UNION: anti-war gig,, hull, welly: A great sense of unity down the front, everyone marching while chanting no war... PENNYWISE: leeds fest 2003: one of first punk bands i got into and they played a blinder of a set TEARJERK, old george Goole : A fuckin ace venue in the fastest rising punk scene in the UK...only holds like 60 people but everyone loved it...ended with their new, classic song "hope against hope" with everyone in crowd holding baz up while he sang STRIKEOUT: boston. the indian queen: Already one of most established punk scenes....such an amazing gig with circle pits, wall of deaths and human pyramids REAL MCKENZIES: Aberdeen, dr drakes...hadnt been to a gig with such a good atmosphere in the crowd since the anti-war gig mentioned above, no one was there to look macho in the pit, it was just bout havin a good time and the band were great SEVERED HEAD OF STATE: Aberdeen, dr drakes KING PRAWN: Hull, Welly Club ACT OF VIOLENCE: Scarborough, murrays : Ok this more metal...in your sick of it all meets hatebreed kinda way but still ace, vocalist had a broken foot and was jumping off tables BREHVNEZ, aberdeen, dr drakes: A great band, shame they split FREAKS UNION, hull, welly club (again)
  11. aye thats a fuckin cracker of a song! as for my band...I'd say one called "I belive" but I don't really know why...i guess cos its the only one which isn't just verse-chorus-verse
  12. not really...it can still work...think of NOFX "The Decline"...slice of genius. I too have been writing a concept piece based on Vivalidi's 4 Seasons as well as a musical called Texan Apocalypse...if any of these will ever see the light of day remains to be seen...
  13. it's easy for you to say...i've only got 3 years of goin to punk shows to speak about
  14. if you want a band that is pushing boundaries check out Fig 4.0 (i know i mention them all the time) but they really are the best band in the world today, doing something totally original... http://www.bombedout.com/downloads/mp3/fig._4.0_-_give_up_your_day_job.mp3 http://www.bombedout.com/downloads/mp3/fig._4.0_-_red_ash.mp3
  15. proof that DIY punk is not dead is in small places like Boston (lincolnshire), Goole and Kirkcaldy where each gig is packed. I was in Boston last month and it was insane...all you ever get there is DIY punk gigs, everyone from Shatterhand to Tragedy to Brehvnez. All the kids (young kids) go wild...circle pits, wall of deaths, human pyramids....everyone has fun and theirs all kind of record and zine distros...if there was ever a gig which restored my faith in punk so much, it was that! And yes all the bands got paid! It's easy to say that DIY punk is dead but that's cos we're in one of the worst towns or cities in Scotland for punk bands. How many people in Aberdeen have heard of Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today or GoodCleanFun? I looked in one-up and there was no records by any of these bands... What other scene can you get tape trading with people in Russia or South America? I've made friends all over the world from DIY punk network so I don't see how anyone can criticise it
  16. your anti-diy punk but i saw you dancing to and sporting a swellbellys t-shirt! and you can make more money from a DIY gig than by playing Kef because the promoter is going to be more fair...and if the bands dont get paid it's cos of people like you, who claim to be punk but don't support the scene
  17. it's even got an anti "anti-flag" link...twats!
