This may sound stupid.....but can't you just nominate someone yourself to be rector??? or is it too late now???? Why not find someone yourself - famous or not? Normally all you have to do is fill out a form from the SRC and get some mates to sponsor the "nominee" and then hope people vote for that person! I remember a few years ago someone nominated their Grannie to be rector at Glasgow University. She lost out to Grant from Eastenders (who got sacked as he was crap)

I think its terribly sad that people are being so disrespectful towards the Pope's death. I'm not religious, I don't agree with alot of what the Catholic church stands for but I agree with Dave; the Pope did alot for the World and he stood up for democracy and helped people of other religions. I think its terrible that you can belittle a man who did so much for the World. With regard to contraception and HIV/AIDs, thats just the view of the church but in addition its also the view of ALOT of older people. Yes, its not right and as a leader he could have acted differently but thats just the church. Perhaps the new Pope will be slightly more modern on such issues.

I'd leave.....I really think it helps you mature as a person if you move to a different city and get new life experiences. Plus, Glasgow is a great city, lots of fantastic pubs, there are loads of great gigs and its much sunnier!!!! In fact, Glasgow is really much cooler.....

could have been for several reasons.....drugs and alcohol could have been involved, could have just had a terrible diet, could have been due to familial heart problems... expect to see heart attacks at yound ages more often in the future - with the younger population being too fat..

agreed...i didn't like it either..... The demo was quite poor quality though, which is a shame, so I'll reserve my judgement for when I see you guys live.
