  1. They sound like the perfect Xmas songs for the Fudge CD - wait til you hear the panto, THAT'S when it starts getting offensive.....to your ears if not to your morals!

The pisscranes track for the CD is titled 'The Three Months of Christmas' and should be recorded this Sunday as planned.

  2. No man' date=' it was definitely a Wilt "headlining" gig - I remember it well - There wasnae a big crowd there so Cormak asked everyone who was there to come nearer to the front. My mate and I stood right next to a speaker and were deaf for a week after! We both shook Cormak's hand afterwards - What a gent! A true genius!

I remember the Lemon Tree gig as well - Still got the ticket! That was a great gig too.

It's a pity other folk on the forum never liked Wilt as much as Kerbdog. Completely different bands, I suppose. I remember Kerbdog being touted as "The Irish Nirvana" Pah - Much better than that drivel!!!!!!![/quote']

NO WAY, it was the Turn gig he said that!!! Unless he said it at both gigs of course...

  3. Wanna resist the introduction of ID cards? Then visit http://www.defy-id.org.uk

Such measures are used to control the populace - to contain dissent' date=' introduced under the guise of combatting terrorism. Fearing a possible terrorist attack, the British public ain't gonna say a thing. And what better way to control people than through fear.[/quote']

I know this is a completely different debate and a bit off topic but I think the whole thing about anti-ID cards is a load of wank.

Anyone got a driving licence handy? I'm looking at mine now, it has my FULL name, my date of birth, home address, a phot and my signature. Now, call me stupid, but if someone steals this, they have pretty much all the info they need to commit plenty of fraudy type stuff, I would imagine.

And why is everyone so afraid of the government knowing information about us anyway?! Doing things we shouldn't be doing, are we...? We all pay taxes, we're all registered at birth and when we get married, blah blah blah - surely they already have plenty of information about us, like where we live etc etc etc? You give this information to banks, to energy companies, to mobile companies, why not the government?! If it cuts down on terrorisim or illegal immigrants, surely that's good for the UK? If if cuts down on benifit fraud, isn't that good for the UK?

It's these anti-ID people that cause the REAL paranoia in the public.

  4. I think there was interest at the Glow gig, it was supporting Turn I think it was. They'd just issued the one single, No Worries, and when Cormac announced it, loads of folk went 'yay!' which took him by suprise.

They played at the Lemon Tree too, supported by Purple Munkie. I did the lights for PM but couldn't go speak to the Wilt guys cos I would have pissed my pants. The only other time I was THAT excited was meeting the Foos!

  5. True but most labels know what a release form is' date=' and when asked why they never got release forms for their releases came up with something better than 'it's too much hassle'.

The release will protect the label and the artist. Fair enough its a learning curve but there is research that should be done to protect the artist and the label before you start. This isn't a dig, more just I think that people will not look on SSR as a professional company until he has that kind of thing sorted.

    Cheers

What the smeg is a release form?

  6. I would only half agree with the original post. Yes, people who like/play the same type of music do tend to wear the same kind of clothes but I don't think it's a fashion thing. I mean, if you like the same music or are influenced by the same things as other people doing simular things, then surely that spills over into what you'd wear as well? Or, if you think a band sounds cool then the chances are you think they look cool so you copy them.

At the end of the day, image doesn't mean jack if the music is bad though. Imaged and styled pop bands are 10 a penny but there are only a handful that have good enough songs to make an impact and have more than one record.

  7. Ah so Jo doesn't get a chance to win anything because you couldn't think of a place to put her. I wouldn't have said she was that different to Kathryn Sawyers' date=' except for being more popular.

I agree that Jo should get something, the girl's achieved so much more than any of the other bands nominated, she's sold thousands of CDs, played to more people in a few gigs than most people nominated play to their whole career. How many other acts on the bill have played to a sold out Barrowlands crowd ? Or shared a stage with Joe Walsh, or played the Amsterdam Paradiso. Is Fudge scared to reward excellence ? Scared it'll make the rest of the acts look like they haven't achieved anything ? She's been criminally overlooked in previous years, come on Fudge she deserves something, she's offered to play, don't let her miss out because of Fudge's lack of imagination on who she'd play with because she'd blow them off stage...

Go Fudge, you know it makes sense...

    El Flosso [/quote']

Oooooh, that's just ASKING for a Fudge backlash rant....
