Iron Maiden - Rainmaker
Go for it Davey!
-
Who's going down to see the metal gods on Saturday?
I'm going!
When Halford supported Maiden in 2000 he threw his shades heroically into the crowd... Mac got them, so I'm really tempted to see take them so that if I meet Halford I can give them back to him
And yes, Halford does in fact bat for the Birmingham Gods of Metal Rounders Select XI.

I hear the boy did wear a lot of black clothing..
OMG Balck cloving burn thi witch!!!!!111
In all seriousness, this is tragic. The boy was obviously a total c*nt, black clothes or not.

guys' date=' can we cover it on sunday? whatever it is?? just i dont have any beer money?! pweease... [/quote']
Shallow be thy name?
-
It has the most rubbish chorus ever. EVER!
-
BTW, I forgot to thank you for your celebratory serenade of the alternative version of Tie That Binds. Truly, erm, beautiful...
-
Ticket booked! Iron Maiden, hooray
-
What were you doing??
The sheer power of Gumpy's tie sent me into cranial meltdown. Sorry.
-
We played Basket case at macs 18(?)th in Marykirk a thankyouverymuch...
And yeah' date=' all by myself was in a medly with something, i have a sneaky suspicion it might of been henry's cat...
Just to get right down into the pointless shite, dont forget the Shaggy Medly that len did at Drakes Dungeon once.... and your Cpt. Birdseye song, although not a cover.[/quote']
I stand corrected. I have the shaggy medley on a disc somewhere I think... and did we really play the Captain Birdseye song? I don't remember that.
-
We only played Basket Case in practise... we would have played it in Montrose if they hadn't cancelled our gig 3 hours before we were due to turn up
Did we really play all by myself? I remember Mac used to play it, I don't remember us playing it.
And I believe you have failed to mention our closing number at our very first gig, I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by a certain pair of C. Reids.
-
I just read on the Iron Maiden bulletin Board that their ex-singer Paul Di'anno is meant to be playing the Lemon Tree on the 3rd of June... can someone confirm that this is true?
Also, will a support band be required? Because I know a fairly succesful local band who would like to do it
-
Ahhhh.... I see what you're saying.
I guess we ought to also mention master of puppets from last Halloween.
-
Nope, I just can't even remember... what does your young memory recall that my abused and battered cranium doesn't?
-
Yeah' date=' we did the Brave live a couple of times i think, i remember fucking bits up left right and center.
As for Virus, there will no doubt be a Minidisc of it somewhere, tho whether we want you to hear it or not is another matter. [/quote']
There is no recording of us playing Virus... those were the days before my minidisc and subsequent bootlegging-mania. I don't have a recording of us playing the Brave at a gig, but I do have a version somewhere of it in practise. If I can ever be arsed I might compile a Black Atom covers album, with all the songs we've ever borrowed on it... I certainly have recordings of Feed My Frankenstein, Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter, The Trooper (obviously), maybe pain for pleasure aswell somewhere. Can't even remember what else we have covered...

Happy birthday sir! And I'm the first to wish you on the right day
-
You know, if I didn't have a really big essay due on Friday then I'd really consider it.
-
It was someone at the awards apparently. It is fucking ace!
-
Thanks everyone! I'm having a nice day And don't worry about the elephants, I have them all waiting for distribution to the various members of the band
-
What happened last night????? I have no recollection.
You gave us lots of awards by mistake
-
Happy birthday! (And to Steve Harris too )
Unbelievably mine is tomorrow! It's an Iron Maiden conspiracy!
-
Last night at the Fudge awards we won best metal act, best live act, and best act... Thanks to all of you who voted, and those of you who didn't but would have given the opppurtunity. Having won best metal and best live acts last year I thought that perhaps we might not win them this year... to win them both and then get best act on top of that was great, and very surprising... I know it's only a wee local awards thing blah blah blah but it still feels great! I see it as a bit of an 'up yours' to the scenesters who think they're too cool to like us because because we happen to play 'heavy metal', and a vindication of our belief in ourselves over the last 7 years. We may have a lot of fun onstage, and we can laugh at ourselves easily enough, but that doesn't make us a joke band! We fucking love metal, and will continue to love metal and play metal for years to come Thanks again to you all, if you people didn't like us and come and see us then we wouldn't win anything. You all rock!
BTW special thanks to Dan for lending me money to get in And bravo Jamesy on the MMW acceptance speech, I believe you dealt with the situation admirably

Right now I'm listening to that OXO advert on the TV that everyone says is us...
...it isn't!
-
Who told you? No-one told me! I guess it's probably a lie. Sorry.
-
Not just cheap Scorge, but free! And you can't say fairer than that.

What is the big deal about being 'new' and 'relevant'? Why should everyone be a bandwagon-jumping trend-following fool? If I like beasting metal harmonies, guitar solos, and more importantly songs as great as Painkiller then why shouldn't I give Judas Priest my ticket money? I'd sure as fuck rather see them than any of those fucking awful 'relevant' new bands that were on channel 4 all the time during NME awards week...
Sure, their reunion is probably about money. Sure, they may be a bunch of sell outs (let's face it, we've known it for years, Turbo Lover anyone?) But I want to see them, so I don't really care! They'll play some of my favourite tunes, and I'll have a great night, but hey, I guess that's a crime in some people's eyes...
