    Pet Hates!

Can they not just change the bulb and do the free retest? Should only cost a couple of quid.

There's also a Mike's in Torry on Menzie's road, just before the roundabout at the bottom of Wellington Road.
  3. Argh! There was no automatic relegation that season due to expansion. Falkirk's stadium didn't save us from relegation it saved us from a playoff.
  4. Well let's not get into a whose team has done the most damage to our mental health argument but following Aberdeen has been a singularly depressing experience for almost my entire adult life.
  5. I'll third that. During Aberdeen's recent history there have been some hugely polarised opinions on some of our managers and I've seen a few people claim to be against the club or hope we lose just to get rid of the man in charge. Not cool. Far as I'm concerned you never bet against your own club. Think there's a big difference between being happy when he's sacked and hoping you lose to speed it up.

Hass' is good and probably the best in Aberdeen. But The Bay in Stoney is different class. Also like The Carron if I can't be arsed queuing for The Bay. Stoney's always been great for chippers. A lot of folk tell me that Hornblowers in Gourdon is pretty great too. Need to take a drive down the road to try it.
  7. Sounds good. I always put hills in my runs when I can so gradient isn't a problem, doesn't make them any more fun at a race though (as Skye half marathon proved)! I've hardly done any running the last two months as we're getting ready to move house. Bit of a shame as I was in great form at the start of the summer but that's the way things go I suppose. Will need to figure out some good routes around Stoney for when I move. Need a 5k loop, 10k loop and a good variable LSR. Need to find a hilly off road route too.
  8. Oof! Well, at least you finished. That's a long way to go if it's a slog. How was the course? Thinking of making this my first marathon next year.
  9. That kinda sums up everything that's wrong with the new consoles at the moment. Where's the new games?
  10. How does the loot work in a shared fireteam? Can everyone pick up anything that's dropped or does it just drop for whoever gets the kill?
  11. Yeah I put a fair few hours in over the weekend and am really enjoying Destiny. Did try a few Control matches in the Crucible and found them a lot of fun. Especially some of the bigger maps where you have to get on your sparrow to move quickly between flags. The team balancing seems pretty spot on to me at the moment, making for some really close, tense matches. I think they've made an effort to flatten the classes so that there's no major advantage for one over the other and it doesn't seem to matter what level you are for the most part either. But fuck the guys who go in with shields. Mostly I've just been doing the solo story missions though and then working some bounties. Even the solo firefights are great, great fun. I've even found myself jumping around my sofa, or as my wife asked "why are you bouncing?" while playing it. Well, damnit, leaning helps. I had thought that sort of behaviour went out with zipsticks and other clicky joysticks. Still haven't done a strike. From everything I've heard it doesn't sound like the kind of thing you can solo and I'm pretty unsociable when gaming these days.
  12. Milner, you adore Halo. You will love Destiny.
  13. Where do you find the Strike missions? I've not done one yet. I'm up to level 8 as well now and have just really enjoyed being able to jump in and do a mission, play a few rounds in the crucible or just fire into a patrol and wander round picking up missions. All of those I find can be done (so far) in 20 - 40 mins making it perfect for me as I don't often get to spend hours at a time gaming.
  14. Went back to Tesco the next morning and got a new copy of Destiny. Installed first time with no problems. Really enjoying the game. The story missions are a lot of fun and interactions with other players are firmly on an "if you want to" basis, it's not forced at all. Even found a football in the tower to kick around. It doesn't feel like an MMO, it feels like an FPS that everyone just happens to be playing at the same time. Anyway, ignore what the forums are saying, pick it up and try it if you like action FPS games / Halo and you'll have a lot of fun.

That crash is horrible. Completely Prost's fault, you can see him clearly look in his right mirror and not bother to check his left before turning in.
  16. Bought Destiny, spent 3 hours trying to install it on my 360 and gave up. Figure it must be a duff disc but very frustrating. Just kept resetting to 0% and then when I tried a different method of installing it said it couldn't read the disc.

  18. Thanks! I've been working on my weight for a few years. What works for me is just keeping things simple - eat less, move more. No fad diets, don't worry too much about sticking to plans or schedules. Just trying to eat smaller portions, a balanced diet, keep snacks and junk food to a minimum and find some exercise I enjoy (running, cycling, hillwalking) that I can do regularly. I still have treats, if I cut out chocolate completely life wouldn't be living but if I've had a lazy week I'll be stricter with what I eat and if I've been working hard I'll allow myself to pig out. It's not complicated.
  19. Dunno, try googling it and find out for yourself. As far as I know it's intended for university level but that was just from a quick skim read.
  20. If it's a university level course you may be able to get into the Erasmus programme
  21. Penalties are excruciating but there isn't a better way of ending a game that's destined to be a stalemate.
  22. Is it Jake? If it's Jake then I think we can just all leave the internet, it's done.
  23. So do I. Talisker is one of my favourites, but there's a small number marketed with obscene levels of peat (Smokehead, Big Pete etc) and they take it too far. Seeing as we're talking whisky I've always been pretty snobby about the mass market blends and stuck to single malts. But recently I've been picking up bottles of Famous Grouse, Black Grouse and Johnnie Walker Black as they're often reduced in the supermarket and have to say I'm totally converted. Single Malts are still ace for getting that unique taste of the distillery and the great variety of flavours on offer but if you just want a solid, easy drinking bottle of whisky those mainstream blends are great value.
