  1. Beer is a great recovery drink, lots of carbs and other good stuff! Or so I tell myself...
  2. Aye I saw that (couldn't make it along to the race sadly). He said online that he's run up it over 1000 times so he should be quick on it! Looking forward to seeing how he gets on in the Alps over the summer.
  3. Apparently he's being included in the squad and will travel despite being injured, in the hopes that he'll be able to contribute at some point. Bothered. My iPod's on shuffle and has just started playing Ugly Kid Joe songs one after the other. Nothing can bring me down. Vive La France.
  4. Excellent! With your times I'm sure you'll really enjoy being in a club with fellow runners. Really helps push you along. I'm done with the 10k for a while. Skye Half Marathon a week on Saturday though. Expect it to be pretty brutal. Figure it's either going to pish down with rain and make for a miserable couple of hours or it'll be hot and sunny and make for a miserable couple of hours.
  5. Well done! I'm sure you'll nail the 20min run. It's great when you really start noticing improvements. I always find stretching is a massive help to prevent or at least alleviate DOMS, but there's a large number of runners who don't bother with it.
  6. It's a yes to the kit and a no to the boots.
  7. If you're experienced in your profession agencies can be very helpful. Most IT jobs after entry level are advertised through agencies so you have to deal with them. But like everything there are good and bad ones. I had a meeting with a national agency the other week and the supposed specialist I was talking to had only been in the job for 3 months, his last job (according to linkedin) was sales assistant at the moneyshop and he didn't understand many of the details on the CV. He also refused initially to tell me the name of the company I was applying for a job with, I'd have walked if he hadn't. Thankfully he told me in the end as it turned out to be one I was very familiar with (have a current relationship with them in my present role) and I don't really want to apply for a job with them. Some of the other one I've talked to have been excellent though. Know their specialty and very happy to discuss your options.
  8. Adrian Chiles liked it "this. is. funny" https://vine.co/v/Md05wIQLxHV
  9. Impressive paper aeroplane action from last night's England vs Peru game

    Pet Hates!

This. Sounds like they've most probably contravened redundancy regulations so there's bound to be grounds there for some kind of tribunal. Alternatively if they realise they've fucked it up by being bastards they might offer a decent lump sum as a please don't sue us payment.

    Pet Hates!

That is not a phenomenon I'm familiar with.
  12. Martin O'Neill said Keane's held informal talks with Dermott Desmond.
  13. That's pretty beasting. Well done! Are you running Scolty at the weekend? I've decided to give it a miss as I've got other things to do and need to get a long run in with Skye coming up in two weeks but I tagged along on a recce of the route tonight: http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/509677482 The bit after the first descent is very wet. You're either running through a small burn or running through bog either side of it. Good fun! The second descent is very technical and really enjoyable if you like that kind of thing (I do). Lots of tree roots and quick direction changes.
  14. My original prediction, before the site screwed it up, had a France - Uruguay final. In fact the more I look at mine, the more fucked up it is. Australia!? Looks like the last 16 are correct and then it gets completely random.
  15. Goal was disallowed so probably not.
  16. We beat Norway 4-0 earlier in the week. Two goals from Giroud. He'll get us victories just by distracting the opposition with his handsomeness.
  17. Looks like the USA didn't fancy their draw so switched to the other side and will still get papped out by glorious France.
  18. One thing that hasn't gone wrong is France to win. Allez Les Bloooooze
  19. WTF? It seems to have replaced USA with Ghana after the last 16. And swapped Cameroon for Brazil.
  20. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-27614288 I for one am terrified of gangs of 3 year olds roaming the streets and committing petty crime.
  21. The Grill has the best whisky selection in the city, but not sure if they'd do an organised tasting. Deeside Drinks in Banchory? Not sure if Sandy would be able to organise something in Aberdeen for you. If not he may be able to point you in the right direction.
  22. I've spoken to them already, thanks. Though not heard much from them for a while. Been re-writing my CV to big up what I've done in my previous roles (Apps Support) - emphasising project work, customer and vendor management etc - which may make me sound like a better prospect for the new role (BA/PM) so going to send that out to the agencies I've been speaking to soon for some feedback. As well as all this I'm now acting as team lead in my current job so that's more experience to add to the pot.
