right. me and some friends are giong away for a week or so in august. but we've no idea where to go. we want to be able to do stuff during the day like touristy things or water sports etc. but then still go out at nights and have a good time. we're all students so it needs to be semi cheap. so. give me/us some suggestions to look into to.

they can tell by doing tests. one doctor told me if the swelling had got worse by the monday then she'd say it was mumps... but i knew that if it was mumps the swelling would be going down by the monday. which it did. but the nurse phoned the hosptial to ask what to do and they were like "yeah just take blood, urine, spit and swob samples" then i had to go back a week later and give more blood. cause they found mumps in my blood but needed to know what my normal level of it was to know that id was definatly higher before and therefor i definatly had mumps. but it meant i could apeal for my exams and i got an A for something i didnt even sit. how cool.

erm you may still be contageous. search mumps on NHS direct. its what i did and i found out more about it then the doctors could tell me

i think that is more a recent fear. i dont think it was around when we got it. cause im pretty sure the mmr jab was new when we were all born.

nah they actually fucked up with a heap of us. they discovered this a few years ago. i got mumps during my exams in 6th year. took 5 doctors and a nurse to figure out what was wrong with me cause none of them had seen mumps before. i got the MMR jab when i was like two... the year below me all then got a second dose when they were like 3 or something. (which we found out cause ryan didnt need anymore jabs and i didnt give him mumps) but they realised when i was in P4 that everyone needed more vacine but they only gave us it for measales and rubela (my spelling sucks) cause me and my sister got it at school and our cards had one M scored out and they traced it back and found out that everyone didnt get a second dose of mumps cause at the time they thought only one was needed. but they were wrong. and thats why so many people keep getting mumps and its just people our age that need to get more jabs. folk younger are fine. but i feel for you. it sucks. but the swelling only lasts for 3 days or so. 5 tops. its just crap when your contageous for like 11 days after it but yet you feel fine.

my mum called me from it just to tell me she was watching it and thought of me. how sad. ive not seen it in years. we used to go every year with a bag of pennies. was sooo much fun as a kid. me and my mate vicki were gutted we wouldnt get to take part cause we were going to paisley. but keep saying we're gona set up our own one haha. but we dont have societies at our campus :-(

not that i know off. he may be related to me through my dad's cousins. see my dad is one of 6 children and his dad is one of 6 children. so ive got 18 cousins on my dads side all but 4 have the last name swan. and then my dad has about 20 cousins too. most of them with the last name swan too. so then by the time they have children.... theres a lot of us :-) my great uncle eddie swan is an artist and has also just written the book about the theatres centenary.

i was gona say the same thing. i checked with my dad. he said if your there during the week when no ones there you might get away with it. but summer time is busy and folk go on week long camps
