succubitch
I think everyone who lived in student accomodation, hated it at one point, but it's only when you look back on it do you remember all the parties you had in the hallway, getting stoned, drunk and stealing bath plugs; oh what fun there was to be had. becky
When I was in halls in my first year of Uni I was with 2 Singaporians who were in their 3rd year' date=' 1 Irishman in his 3rd year, 1 Glasgae 30-something in his 4th year and bizarrely one of my older sisters' friends in his 4th year. Fucked up, huh? I just went out lots... Maybe that's why they do it, they figure if there's no-one in your flat you want to hang out with then you're forced to go out and have a blast![/quote']Yup id agree.. i live there and due to the the diversity btwn the flatmates, youre forced to venture out in search of a good time and to actually meet anybody. hillhead is different cuz you have a pub where the people can socialise at. 'the hole'! But at the fire station there's just the common room where the accommodation managers hang out (and closes at about 11), or the arranged parties at the Priory! Oh, and then there's the fact most of the people there are dodgers ken? i was robbed the other night!

Cloud
Don't take this the wrong way, but why didn't you chase it up? If you were allowed to leave stuff there over Christmas and your room was secure, you should've went straight to the police, got a crime reference number and went straight to the management of the place to get it sorted. Cloud
I'd be very curious to find out if the "no responsibility if the front door isn't locked" clause would hold up as technically, rooms in halls are seperate residences are they not? Considering the TV licencing people treat halls rooms as seperate, it'd be an interesting thing to bring up.Makes you wonder how they get into rooms that should be secured, though... But apparently once you're registered as a Danish citizen they consider you as Danish. bastards.
ian quik
me and my flatmates were thinking about moving back into halls this year at mealmarket, but when we found out that it would almost cost us 1000 more than our first year halls......... mealmarket aint cheap, and the firestation is even more expensive than that right? private! Oh, and then there's the fact most of the people there are dodgers ken? i was robbed the other night![/quote']Yeah, I lived in wonderful Hector Boece Court in Hellhead... Cheapest of the cheap. Nice mould too. The bar was called The Moon when I was there though, because it had no atmosphere...Some toe-rag tried to rob my room too. I had the window open and was lying on my bed reading uni stuff and he appeared slowly through the window. Guess he'd been listening a while and figured I wasn't in my room. I yanked him through the window and rattled his head off the radiator underneath it. Called security, the cops came, he got taken to hospital and I got left with a nice bloodstain on my carpet. I told the cops he slipped on the windowsill and whacked his head, and he was too concussed to remember even coming in the window. Turned out he'd robbed loads of people and most of it was stashed in his room. I think I left a nice big scar across his forehead, shame I didn't write "thief" across it in permanent marker too! Vaya
It was a party there that made me realise I'm glad I never went into halls.
