An inquiry has revealed that over 500 people fell ill after a sick rock fan vomited at a CHARLATANS concert in Scotland last year.

A third of the concertgoers who witnessed the band were struck down by Winter Vomiting Disease during the gig. An inquiry for Aberdeen City Council discovered two people were suffering from food poisoning prior to the concert, and one vomited on the steps of the city's Music Hall.

The germs were then carried into the hall and spread through the air-conditioning system, making hundreds ill, according to Femalefirst

the charlatans are amazing. one of the finest british bands ever with one of the most interesting stories. if anyone is interested in band biographies go out and buy we are rock by john robb. a fine fine book.

the charlatans are much more than a 'madchester' band, they acheived their own sound in a time filled with bands who all sounded the same and they've constantly evolved to include their various seperate influences. plus they make great music to dance to when you're drunk.

ONE TO A-CHUNDER

Charlatan's music not to blame for gig sickness SHOCKER

25 Jan 2005

Tim Burgess and his band of oddly longevous indie dullards have been cleared of causing a peculiar incident after nearly the entire crowd at one of their gigs became ill.

After the concert in Aberdeen last May' date=' nearly 500 people fell ill, smitten with nausea, vomiting and the aches. This apparently wasn't due to Burgess' dying dog vocals, but a particularly virulent strain of what's known as winter vomiting disease, according to the results of an investigation published this week.

Apparently, one fan chucked up on the stairs of the venue. This released 30 million virus particles into the air, which were unwittingly hoovered up into the noses and gobs of the other attendees. With only 100 particles needed to be infectious, the crowd fell like corn before the scythe.[/quote']

Eehehehe :)
