che
This place is powered by vBulletin 3. It is most definitely not free, and has a yearly license fee. Another good commercial solution is invision power boards. However since it sounds like you want a free option, the best free option is phpBB2.Although to run any of these you will need a web host which supports PHP and mySQL. If you don't know what these are, then you probably don't have them. (There are free hosts out there that support PHP and mySQL, but they aren't very good). So if you don't have a host, and you don't want to pay for one, you can use proboards or bravenet or some such, but these are really nothing in comparison to vBulletin/invision/phpBBCommercial PHP (best option, but costs money. Also need good host.)vBulletin - http://www.vbulletin.comInvision Power Board - http://www.invisionboard.comFree PHP (a good option. a good host is still needed)phpBB2 - http://www.phpbb.comFree Remote Hosted (horrible option. but completely free)ProBoards - http://www.proboards.comBravenet - http://www.bravenet.comSudden Launch - http://www.suddenlaunch.comWorld Crossing - http://www.worldcrossing.comezBoard - http://www.ezboard.comInvisionFree - http://www.invisionfree.comRunBoard - http://www.runboard.comIMB - http://www.instantmessageboards.comQuickTopic - http://www.quicktopic.comAnd a host of others... Skittles
i think i still prefer vBulletin 2 compared to 3and yeah www.invisionfree.com is ok if your starting, easily customized - only 1 ad banner i think? But you can get an ad blocker heres a example of an invisionfree board - *ahem* http://www.suburbanboredom.tk plug over

Gall_4185
Yeah, with invision free you only get one ad banner, which can be disabled for a small fee. Or you can leave it,because it somethimes comes up with useful links *shock horror*
Neil
Where did these forums come from? I like the style of it and wouldn't mind to know where it came from for my own site. Was it free to get them?Anyone know of any good free forums or message boards? As previously stated these forums are running vBulletin 3.0.3 with hacks here and there. The style for the web site was purchased and is not freely available - it has also been quite heavily customised since.
