Last night I ended up seeing two great bands, Weird Lines and Adrian Teacher and the Subs. The latter have an album out this year called Terminal City and I've been listening all day. It's great, super poppy and catchy. 10/10, would recommend (it's on Spotify). I saw Adrian Teacher and the Subs twice in the space of two weeks despite them hailing from the opposite side of the country from me. I have had Terminal City on repeat for about a month now. You can and should download the whole thing for free here: https://adrianteacher.bandcamp.com/album/terminal-city

Love that jangly guitars and slacker vocals combo. And that LP cover. It is wonderfully horrible. new Planes Mistaken For Stars record out next month. Also new Anaal Nathrakh too. The new Planes song sounds excellent.
kirsten
Haha, I know, there's so much going on in it. They were selling the LP for $10 at their gigs. THOROUGHLY GOOD GUYS! I put on A Giant Dog's album for the first time in ages today in preparation for seeing them at the end of the month and, shit, it's good! Am still trying to work out whether it's better than her last album, which was my top album of 2014. It might be. It's certainly got some good stuff on it. This track's particularly great. She goes full Fleetwood Mac on it:
Lemonade
Are Biffy Clyro totally uncool now that they're massive and poppy? Whatever. Their new album is a blinder.

Their new album is a blinder. Obviously. I think there are some dead good songs on it and that they put on a dead good show in Glasgow a few weeks ago. I have always been totally uncool though so it's cool, yo.

Their new album is a blinder. I feel the same about the new Blink 182. I can't explain it. Everything about it sounds so computer generated. I doubt they've sung a note on the record that isn't auto-tuned beyond recognition. Still, it's belting pop music. It also helps that Matt Skiba is infinitely better a everything than Tom Delonge. Woodsinho
Falco from Future of the Left has put out a new album from his 'solo' band and it's good, obviously, because everything he and his pals do is good. You can hear it here: https://christianfitness.bandcamp.com/album/this-taco-is-not-correct
Lemonade
Any thoughts on the new Nick Cave record? It's beautiful, but fuck.... dark.
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Okkervil River have a new album out. It is good, so gets the Mountain Wizards seal of approval. I am looking forward to hearing the new Joan as Policewoman album as well, since she has went for a more straightforward pop sound.

kirsten
Thanks for the reminder, keep forgetting to check it out! I've been crap at keeping tabs on what new stuff has come out this year, so my BEST OF 2016 list will probably be really short. Anyone have a top 10?
