KarmaTsunami
Plan B looked like pile of super-hyped trendy pish when I picked it up in Borders.....On ocassion, but some of the articles/interviews are superb, such as recent ones with Bjork and Robert Wyatt, and the new bands section is always rewarding. I heard about Anni Rossi through this magazine!

offramp
oh, and I don't really read music mags....online mostly (DiS, Pitchfork, messageboards, blogs etc)
stuartmaxwell
When you get one, just make sure they really patronise the reader and that they can namedrop as many uncool bands and acts as possible. It is then that said band/act/night/event is deemed "cool" for those in england/londonscotland is merely an accesory
Lemonade
Rock Sound is one I buy regularly and don't feel cheated by. I like the fact the writers clearly like the same stuff as me, as shown by their recent "most important records" feature which had stufff like "Shape of Punk...", "Oceanic" and loads of other records I love in it, rather than just Never-fuckin-mind a-fucking-gain. Plus they do cover a few other genres superficially, so I feel like I'm "branching out"....Empire I get too, but think they hype blockbusters too much when they're clearly shit. And I fall for it.Metalhammer I sill buy occasionally.Kerrang I buy far too often, as it's gash. I only read the reviews and tour dates - don't think there has been a feature I've more than glanced at for months....I disagree, I think they generally review pretty fairly, and if a blockbuster is shit they'll say it's shit (see the Simpsons movie, Pirates of The Carribean 3, I Am Legend etc). Though I do wish they'd stop sucking Matt Damon's cock.
Jammer
On a more "local" level, I used to get Scottish indie mag Is This Music? which was rather excellent and featured the odd free CD of tunes. Online only now but still a decent look.is this music?
