stuartmaxwell
the coopers were great, really enjoyed their set. although a few of my pals reckoned it could go up a few notches in volume, didnt care. good balance of set. the bass was huge, the vocals were great, the harmonies were great, the lights were fantastic, and the reworking of panzer attack into a techno tune was excellent. would have loved to see them open with "same mistakes" would have been class. overall though, brilliant, MUCH better than the time i seen em in the forumkubichek! were pretty good an all, the 2nd last song was excellent. lots of interesting quirky wee tunes, reminded me of this et al, seafood, the longcut, interpol. very confident performers, good sound and good patter. i would go see them again if they played nearby.incasino were terrible, they sounded weak, the songs were weak, the vocals were weak. one thing that wasnt weak was that boy who heckled them quite spectacularly. i didnt realise it was diablo until after, but how can a band sound so unpractised after 4/5 years together?? Didz
I thought they started off slowly, the sound was needing turned up a notch but it did seem to get louder as the gig went on. Head's not the best song to open a gig either, Same Mistakes or AIM would have been better. Im not a fan of Once More With Feeling on record but its a totally different song live and was pretty awesome how they worked it into Music Box. Lets Kill Music and Panzar Attack rocked hard and was a class end to the gig. Disappointed no Who Needs Enemies or Devil Walks in the Sand but they did play a fair whack of songs so cannae complain. french_disko
I enjoyed them - although they seem to have lost a lot of their "look" so it was strange to see them look so normal at first. wasn't impressed by the first two bands - both were very "studied" and seemed to be emulating other (better) bands rather than finding any real individuality. The DJ was shite between bands
