framheim
Yep after much discussion and bickering we have come up with a name we're all happy with. We are now called Kartta. We had to change our name due to another guy called Maps who seems to be doing rather well for himself and has an album due out on Mute. Also check our Myspace after tonight(Sunday) for a new song.http://www.myspace.com/mapsuk

Larsen B
Any explanation as to the meaning of the name? Or do we have to find that out ourselves?
framheim
Any explanation as to the meaning of the name? Or do we have to find that out ourselves?I can't decide if i should tell you or let you seek the answer yourself. It'll probably only lead to disappointment either way.Let's just say it's not as big a name change as it may seem.

Cloud
They're not close at all really, Finnish is somewhat different to most European languages (Estonian and Hungarian are closest, but they're not close at all) and most definitely different to the other Nordic languages. But yes, nice name change

Michael MacLennan
did you go and see them?Nah, had to go home for the weekend, plus I haven't heard the other (well, now only) Maps, though I have seen they're starting to get some good press. They any good then?
Scorge
You could have been even more clever and called yourselves '387175,778235', which is aroundabouts the OS number for the bit in Catterline where Dave took those affy nice photos.*not ding*
