It started off pretty well, but as you say just descended into bog standard American horror fare. I expecting much better from the director because Switchblade Romance was pretty cool. There should be a penalty for directors who deem it necessary to remake classic films for a 'modern' audience, this goes especialy for horror films, which seem to be the worst for it.
