crooked*smile
The drive is a bit of a nightmare.Depending on how far away (time wise) the gig is, your best bet is the train or the plane. Personally I always get the plane to heathrow, there's a bus direct from heathrow to the centre of oxford, costs about 15. If you can book reasonably far in advance, flights are 50-70, which is the same as the train, which is a nightmare at about 9 hours. Its harder to get to Stansted from oxford, although the flights are cheaper I guess, but I believe there are supposed to be direct buses, the company's just not as clear. Whereabouts is the gig? crooked*smile
or you can get the mega bus for 5 from aberdeen to london :-)If you're brave! I couldnt handle like 13 hours on a bus.Mind you 5 would be nice compared to 50. But then I'd never have room for all my uni stuff.
Edgar Graham
It's at the brookes university or something, on the 22nd of may. So I won't be able to buy tickets that far in advance. Which airline do you generally use?
crooked*smile
Ooo my finals start on the 22nd, what fun.I tend to go with BA so my dad gets the airmiles, but BMI usually is a bit cheaper. You should be able to get tickets for about £60 for then I reckon.the bus from heathrow stops rights outside Brookes.

crooked*smile
No problem. Hope the gig is good. And be warned, oxford is about as expensive as london.

RicoAUBL
why would you goto standstead anyways?heathrow is much closeryou could drive or get a bus from heathrow to oxford no botheror you could get a bus from heathrow to reading and hop on a train to oxford from reading stationOxford Brookes Uni is on the other side of town from the station i thinkso you'd have to get a cab or another bus out there.. crooked*smile
I only suggested stanstead cos the flights might be a lot cheaper. And if you're going to heathrow, it doesnt make sense to then go to reading, as there are buses that go straight from heathrow to the door of oxford brookes. and yeah, oxford brookes is miles from the station.
