From a listeners point a view spending more money on less tracks is a good start. One really decent track will get you further than 10 shit ones. In fact 10 badly recorded tracks will get you as far as the waste basket!

Most quality demos we get through from bands only have 2-3 tracks. That's all you need.

new to area

I have been a live/studio engineer for 15 yrs and have just relocated to this area... I use various computer based recording systems and am thinking of doing mobile recording....how much do you expect to pay for 10hr session in this area?
