Time Machine
Round at a mate's at the weekend, we were all blethering about music as per usual, i.e. 'Favourite Stones record' etc etc, (same old, same old!) and we eventually got on to talking about albums from the 90s, and I discovered that (I think) the only record in my fairly extensive collection that was released in 1993 is Blur's 'Modern Life Is Rubbish' (my only Blur album). Was there a dearth of great music in this particular year, or was the world just preparing itself for the release of Definitely Maybe and other great records? Steve Temple
There must have been a Suede album that year. Dog Man Star? Or was that 94?
Steve Temple
Also, A New Order album? (not that that's necessarily a good thing)
Time Machine
Yeah, I was thinking along those lines, but, not owning any Suede stuff, i wouldn't know!
Paranoid Android
I think Nirvana In Utero was released in 1993, the only other one that springs to mind is pablo honey by radiohead.
Time Machine
I can almost hear people rushing to their CD stackers to check the year the albums were released!

Don't worry, there's a pair of tits on the sleeve, which also reveals it's from 1994Republic by New Order is from 1993
Steve Temple
I can almost hear people rushing to their CD stackers to check the year the albums were released!Mine just collapsed as I frantically withdrew and replaced CDs. Time Machine
I got a shot of the 'Best Of The Lemonheads', really like it! I read that Dando was a bit of an Oasis hanger-on around then.
Steve Temple
Not a bad year for music at all' date=' really...[/quote']Nah, I bet the collision of the fag-end of Grunge and the birth of Britpop made for a spectularly dreary explosion.I was 8 in 1993, and I do believe I received "Crossroads: The Best of Bon Jovi" for Christmas, so it wasn't all bad
Steve Temple
I was twice your age...Some part of me wishes it was still 1993. Staying up all night watching The Word and Noisy Mothers' date=' getting called a "long haired smelly cunt" every two minutes at school, failing exams...bliss.[/quote']Ah teenage trauma, in 2 weeks I'll no longer be allowed to indulge in that...... But 1993, nothing happened (on a global scale that is. I went to Wales ). No World Cup, no war (other than the Bosnian War, whose great events happened the year before), and no youth movement
Time Machine
No youth movement? Are you sure?! 1993 was classic 'Living and Growing' time for us Primary 6-ers! I was part of a rebel faction of my class which protested at having to explain to the rest of the class about the female menstrual cycle! We weren't having any of that! That was Martin and Marsali's job! Haha!

Time Machine
Turn Into Stone, I don't own that funnily enough as I have all the tracks already. That's maybe a '93 release. The Complete Stone Roses is '95. She was in another class. We had three.
NARC
This is weirdly accurate, Time Machine. I have "Gold Against the Soul", er...I think "Sister" by Sonic Youth perhaps, maybe even "Wowee Zowee" by Pavement. But nothing else!
