Bought tickets for the Babyshambles gig at Greenock Town Hall on 26 July. Not a huge Libos/Shambles fan, great singles bands, but really want to see the whole Pete Doherty travelling circus before he self-destructs!

Favourite tune of the moment is 'Turn Up The Sun' by Oasis, particularly after the Hampden gig. Brilliant set-opener. Hats off Andy Bell.

are rilo kiley worth checking out? i've heard lots of good things but not heard anything. and where's the best place to start?

Very much worth checking out, I'm going to see them in Edinburgh on Friday which will be supa-fly. I'd put them under the general Indie-Pop category. They've got three proper studio albums and an EP as far as I'm aware. Take-Offs and Landings, The Execution of All Things and More Adventurous are the albums.

The big hits at the moment are Portions for Foxes and It's a Hit from More Adventurous, they might be a good starting point. Probably their most 'accesible' album in my opinion, and I'd say it's the most lyrically accomplished album of the 00's by a mile.

If you're going to download a couple of songs I'd say 'Wires and Waves', 'The Execution of All Things' and 'A Man/Me/Then Jim' give a pretty good span.
