  1. Hahaha! That was funny, I should try that next time while ordering from Starbucks, just to see the reactions!
  2. Yeah, Starbucks is the culprit. And also at work when asked for my name over the phone.
  3. I don't know... Ask my mum, she chose my name. If Mr. TT was a thing, I can't help but imagine pies.
  4. This is exactly the situation I get into, plus the added 't'! Sometimes I question if I even know how to pronounce my own name!
  5. Whenever I have to say my name (for example, ordering a coffee), I have to repeat it 2/3 times, then spell it out for the person to go 'Aww, Brett' and then write Bret on the cup. It just doesn't look right with one 't'!
  6. 'Fecker' what happens in Ireland, stays in Ireland.
  7. This is sound advice! This will come in handy!
  8. You could do! It's the CAE boost/line driver which once turned all the to the right gives you overdrive. Now that you mentioned the TS9, I could of had the best of both worlds!
  9. Really!? What type of boost are you using? I though a clean boost would be ideal for just raising the volume for solos.
  10. I picked up a Custom Audio Electronics boost/line driver for my solo's and it's flat, beautifully flat! A really nice clean boost with minimal coloration!
  11. The polytune 2 looks great! Does anyone own one? The hof is on my list of things to get later on.
  12. I think people see their idols on stage with 100w marshall stacks and think, 'I need that!'. I'm thinking if my 20w solid state 1x8 amp would work live? Would be interesting to hear.
  13. I just seen that tone print being used on a demo on youtube. I was blown away when the guy just picked up his phone and tapped it on his strings and got a completely different reverb setting. Unbelievable!
  14. I sort of do something similar with my amp at home and the ones at captain toms. The volume is adjusted to about 5, the gain is about half way. The treble is about 7/8 then the bass is 3/4 and the middle is about 5/6. It seems to work well too with the fender head. If I encounter the orange head again I'll try it out!
  15. I don't mind using whatever amp is available when my band starts gigging soon. My biggest fear is plugging into an amp before a gig and can't get it to sound right.
  16. There's a compressor I've seen that isn't cheep, but the quality of it is amazing! I'd give keeley compressors a search! You can get 2 or 4 knob versions.
  17. Do you not worry about stuff getting into the back of your open back amp? Or am I just speaking rubbish? Haha. The fender head in captain toms is really good! Is that one solid state? I remember from earlier on people were talking about how good the orange head is. I can't get my head around it, I can't get it to sound good! I was using it last Sunday and it didn't sound full, where as the other week we were in, my mate was using it and he was playing it through his rickenbacker 360 and it sounded incredible!
  18. That's the main reason which I chose the Orange Crush 20w practicing amp for my bedroom. It's a solid state though, but it's closed back and sounds really good, but it's only a 1x8 speaker. Small on size but can go really loud!
  19. I guess the best thing with the head and cab is you can mix them up and experiment with different speakers. I'm torn between the Vox AC15c1 and the AC30c2. The AC15 would be more practical for carrying around but the AC30 is overall the best sounding and giver you that extra power and headroom.
  20. Not sure if this thread has already been done before but I thought it would be interesting to see what do people use (amp wise) and why they would go for combo rather than a head and cab for example. For me, I think a combo sounds more appealing because it's all in one box and I'd have some space to store in my house, but then a head and cab looks cooler, can go much more louder but fitting it in my car would be a nightmare!
