  1. He isn't even a hun. His dad named him before disappearing explained here. http://m.scotsman.com/sport/interview-david-cooper-templeton-hearts-winger-1-1370718
  2. D&P valued Rangers assets at nearly £130m and Green paid £5.5m plus fees. Maybe this scenario was his real masterplan to make a quick buck?
  3. There might not be a Rangers of any description next year. The wheels have fallen off Green's wagon already and reports suggest f the club isn't sold again soon administration will soon follow. It seems Green had thought Rangers would stay in the SPL and be able to sell valuable players to balance the books. Now his investors are bailing out too according to rumours. After weeks of Rangers fans jumping right back on their high horse, planning the demise of all the other teams apart from the invincible Rangers, this is going to be a bitter blow.
  4. If Germany and Holland win 1-0 tonight, Holland, Portugal and Denmark will all finish with 3 points. Based on head to head results Holland would have the right ahead of Portugal, but not Denmark and Portugal would have the right over Denmark but not Holland. All teams will have minus 1 goal difference. Goals scored would be 3 for Denmark and Portugal with Holland 2. Would that be Portugal the team to go through as they scored most goals with the result against the team equal on goals scored in their favour as they beat Denmark 3-2? Then Holland would argue they beat Portugal. Any ideas?
  5. http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/2814133 Cinnamon voted top NE restaurant. I've been a few times and have always been less than impressed and most people I know say the same. It currently sits at 153 of 224 restaurants in Aberdeen on tripadvisor. How come it keeps winning awards? Not tried the take away that won an award yet but I will add it to the list. Had a chippy from Hass's on Holburn street the other week. Even with the lack of chippy sauce it was one of the best I've had.
  6. Went to Albufeira in the Algarve last year and honestly didn't like it much. The wee local bar was only €1.50 for a beer but it was just for a quiet drink. Heading anywhere with entertainment at night you were looking at €5 a drink and considering a bottle of vodka can be bought for €5 it is a rip off. The only place good for eating in the new town was Wild&Co but you were €25 for a steak. Everywhere else just sold the same with piri piri chicken and peppered steak "tonight's specials" every single night. The old town was a bit better but the harassment to enter restaurants was as bad as I've ever see. Sunny Beach is fine. Cheap if you stick to local brands. Been a couple of times and would go back. Some of the BH planes are bloody scary though and they don't seem to be concerned about safety too much. I think for a wee holiday this year I will probably go to Salou again. They did a good job of cleaning up the beach a few years back and I'm told further improvements have been made. My mate is just back and said that prices have come down too. There is a theme park and swimming parks well worth a visit nearby. With Sunny Beach and Salou hotel choice is critical. Both have too many stinking hotels that a few of the travel agents seem to recommend too strongly.
  7. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2101743/Rangers-play-free-administration.html I'm positive it was made official what they all get during administration.
  8. It is widely reported and accepted that Whittaker gets £20k a week. Even diehard Gers supporters are baffled by that. Looking back in recent history, Rangers have had some low crowds for cup games and European games. Going further back when they were not winning much in the 80s Rangers have reported average crowds of around 17,000 with crowds as low as 4500 recorded. They used to report there was only 2500 supporters for a game against Patrick Thistle around that time but this has always been contested. 200,000 turned up to Manchester is their quest for glory, but only 10,000 turned up to Hampden in their protest for survival. I've no doubt that there will be the original act of defiance, but the novelty will wear off after some time.
  9. I see that many of the Rangers fans want to go back to division 3 so that the SPL collapses and we all suffer. I've not actually heard anyone thinking that they can't even cover their own costs playing in the SPL with tv, sponsership and European football how will we survive in division 3? What happens when they only get division 3 revenue, the fans start dwindling and they are stuck paying £20k a week to the likes of Whittiker as no other club will offer him that kind of money to leave? I would think if they went back to division 3 it won't be long before they are back in administration. Even if they don't collapse themselves, what is the point working your way back up if as predicted the SPL would have collapsed without them? They keep going on about how harshly the have been treated by all the other teams and the SPL/SFA. Other than the 10 point deduction which is completely standard what else have they had? Will the fines handed out not be wiped out with liquidation?
  10. Polished Bliss the car detailers recommend Martin from Dent Devils for dent/ding repairs. His mobile is 07702 162 962 so you could call him and get a quote in advance. It all depends how bad the damage is. As for the scratches, are they through the paint? You might manage to get them polished out to avoid a paint job. A rotary polisher and cutting compound could make the difference.
  11. Bad drivers will always be bad drivers no matter what they are taught. It's the same bad drivers that also lack awareness of other cars too. Their accidents with other cars don't have the same outcome as having a collision with a bike but it is still an accident all the same. It isn't just a biker related issue it is a road safety issue full stop. Too many bikers put themselves at further risks by testing unaware drivers by putting bikes where cars would not be. There is a lot of bad drivers out there, but given the danger of the motorcycle the rider should be even more aware of where not to position his bike. Too many want to squeeze through assuming all drivers are aware they are coming when they have either approached at silly speeds of just squeezed by the car behind that obstructed the car drivers view just a glance before. It is a two sided argument.
  12. I've never had a smart phone that has come with good earphones. Nokia, Apple, Samsung or whoever. I've never had a problem with mine, but I've no idea how others last. Too many people with cheap fakes though. As for the sound quality being hype, I'm not going to agree with that at all. Over any other phone or personal MP3 player I've used, the sound quality is better by a margin. So far from the people I've let hear my phone, through earphones, headphones of hifi I've not had one single disagreement. Reviews on music sites were also positive about it.
  13. With most phones you get earphones that are worth £2.99 and getting a set of better headphones is a bonus surely? I wouldn't buy Beats headphones if it came down to a choice of headphones. However coming with your phone and having inline controls etc, they serve a purpose. Fine for messing around. Edit. I should have said they are in ear and not headphones supplied.
  14. I've had the HTC Sensation XE for about 6 months now and I'm really happy with it. It is a great phone, great on the internet and with the Beats software the sound is far better than any other phone. You also get Beats headphones in the box. The phone is about 6 months old now, so no doubt an updated version will be here soon enough.
  15. There has been quite a few. I wish I could remember his name. He is a regular in the Queen Vic and always sits at the end of the bar to the right as you walk in. He is on here as we were talking about it. I've always got a soft spot for my hometown too. It's what I grew up with and know inside out. I've had the chance to live in various parts of Scotland and can honestly say I've enjoyed them all for various reasons. Apart from East Kilbride which I actually hated with a passion. In my youth I really couldn't take to Edinburgh. Now when I go back I appreciate it more. If you want to find bad in something, you will. Aberdeen in my opinion is the least recession affected place going with the oil wealth. There is far more work here and more so that pays top money. That's why you end up with all us foreigners! jakebassist comes across as a young lad that knows no better. I'd confidently bet if he left he would get a shock to find things are just a bit easier up here. I would choose Glasgow ahead of Aberdeen for a number of reasons. I do feel it is bigger and better for all my interest. I'd still move back to St Andrews ahead of both though. Aberdeen is a good city though. There isn't any real reason why you shouldn't be happy here. It pays my wages and I do make the best if it.
  16. You are old enough to remember when Celtic were on their knees finishing 4th and 5th behind Aberdeen, Hibs, Dundee Utd and Motherwell? Obviously not. Glory hunter is well off. Am I going to get even more bad assumptions? I just thought the guy in the Queen Vic was hilarious. Slagged off everything that was Glasgow and the glory hunting old firm supporters yet he bailed out on Aberdeen to support a team he has no connection and will only ever watch on tv. I've probably been to more Aberdeen games in 2 years than 99% of people on here so I'm not going to take a beating over my choice of team or the fact I put my hand in my pocket to support a team. I just don't understand why Aberdonians spend so much time hating Glasgow. Do you not think it's a bit odd that another what's good about Aberdeen ends up revolving about Glasgow for the 20th million time on here? The obsession is not natural.
  17. Falkirk is not the best of places. Kind of odd to lump the whole central belt with the same tag given that they are completely different places. Kind of surprised to read such a narrow-minded post from you. I'm from right in the middle of Glasow and Edinburgh. We didn't have a football team to support. My dad hates football and my granddad was dead before I was born. It's nothing to do with religion either. Any more assumptions to end? I've never once said Aberdeen is a bad place because it's not. It is far better than its own stereotypes. Live outside Aberdeen for a lengthy period and you will see life is pretty easy here. I hate reading all the bile posted about Glasgow/the central belt. Most of the comments read as bitter and silly. Smacks of jealousy to be honest as you can't build up so much hatred about something that clearly most of the posters know nothing about.
  18. Another night, another punch up. The lane opposite Drummonds heading to O'neills 2 guys were beating the crap of of two police officers. it took bystanders to control it before 2 police vans and 2 cars attended. Breaking stereotypes, Aberdeen is a far more violent city than Glasgow as far as I've witnessed.
  19. I've also seen more fights in Aberdeen in 2 years than I have in Glasgow in my life. It doesn't leave me thinking Aberdeen is a city full of thugs. Just a few idiots that can't handle their drink.
  20. I'd much rather have a Glaswegian accent than Aberdonian. I've neither but im not going to stereotype a city on an accent. Glasgow does have too many shitholes. It also has loads of great areas making it the best city in Scotland in many respects. Let's not forget Aberdeen has loads of shitholes too. I just stay clear of them and stay in the better bits. Like a do in other areas too. I've realised taking football is never a good idea in Aberdeen. I'm sure it was a forum member from here gave he a hard time in the Queen Vic not so long ago for being "a glory seeking tim" for supporting Celtic. He was sick to death of everyone supporting the old firm and everyone was a glory hunter. Totally killed his own argument when he supported Man Utd as Aberdeen were "shite", "at least Man Utd have a chance of winning something" and because Sir Alex used to manage Aberdeen. I just don't understand how people can build up so much bitter hatred for not a lot of reason.
  21. Aberdeen is a fine place. There isn't any reason not to find happiness here. It's a small city but there is a bit of everything to keep everyone amused. Compared to everywhere else I've lived there is more money floating about which makes things better. One thing I don't like is why Aberdonians have such dislike for anything Glaswegian. They slag it off constantly with silly unfounded comments. I'm not Glaswegian but find it irritating. Every place has its good and bad points. I guess you will find fault in anything if you really want to find it.
  22. Are those Beats headphones genuine? The facebook link you have given does not work for me.
  23. I went to Bollywood once and thought it was poor. Had quite a few from Currymount and did not think too much either. Cinamon takeaway is usually very good but only when you pick up. Delivery times are usually far too long and by the time it arrives it's all soggy from being held in the bag too long. A bit more expensive than normal too. You do get 20% off on the Saturdays the Dons win at home. Surprisingly a pretty good and cheap curry is LA Tandoori. Large portions especially at the price. On the topic of Doners to which I must be classified as an expert by the amount I've had, LA Tandoori's Doners really are the best. The meat(if you can call it that) has a really nice spice through it and his chilli sauce is brilliant. Get a jumbo wrapped up in nan bread and that will be your weekly calorie intake sorted. Easily the best doner in Aberdeen.
