  1. A little late in the day but I noticed this. 150 is not a bad price at all. Once the seller takes the loss from fees, that's going to be hard to swallow. Looks like he is desperate to shift them now. Wonder how he managed to get his hands on so many to start with? T IN THE PARK Tickets Weekend With Camping Fri - Sun | eBay UK
  2. Should I change my user name to Victor?
  3. I apologise I've caused offence, it was not my intention. I don't call trying for 2 days for a refund a nano second or unreasonable. We will have to differ on opinions. It's not just my money tied up in the tickets as I bought on behalf of others. They want to free up cash to fund a late t in the park ticket. I will phone into drummonds and see when they are opening. Hopefully I can get an hour off work to pop in at some point. Again, I apologise that asking the question has caused offence.
  4. Whatever mate. It's not just my opinion, so attack the others too. When you have 4 tickets and a fair amount of money to lose on your debit card and after a few visits and failed attempts to return my money, sorry that I'm just a little concerned.
  5. I was fully aware of that. When they tried to process my refund the payment was rejected a few times. One of the other guys thought his refund was processed Friday but it's not even showing as pending. Surely a lot of guys here have tickets and can say if they have had a refund or not? No refunds on Saturday due to banking problems. No refunds on Sunday because they only do between 12-5pm. The doors were locked between 12-5pm today. The pub was empty other than maybe 4 people and the band setting up. Surely Drummonds realise a lot of people are looking for refunds and we are not taliking pocket change here. They should have something in place that you don't haven to visit Saturday afternoon to be told to come back later, to be told come back tomorrow(Sunday) to then be told on Sunday you need to come between 12-5pm. That's not me being unreasonable is it? Can't say I've has issues getting a refund for anything before.
  6. Every other transaction on my card worked perfectly this weekend. I don't ever remember a single problem with using my card, yet Drummonds can't refund money both days. It should not be so difficult to get a refund. When their bank system did not work they would not offer cash. When is Drummonds ever open during the day?
  7. Can someone please confirm they have had a refund? All day yesterday I could not get a refund because the bank system was down at Drummonds end. Drummonds was closed as usual during the day today and I popped in this evening as soon as door opened. Now I'm told refunds are only given 12-5pm. Big problem is I work during those hours and I've already tried for 2 days for a refund with no success. Two guys that I know bought tickets over the phone thought their tickets had been refunded. No money showing in account yet though. Should alarm bells be ringing? There is no money to pay for the remainder of festival costs and now it's proving difficult to get a refund. Call me a pessimist but I'm concerned.
  8. It would be a helpful option for many to have camping. Just like most other festivals you could have camping and non-camping tickets with the campers paying a few quid more.
  9. Where in Aberdeen has it on tonight and good for watching it?
  10. I'm told there is issues with the banks card system being down and not to expect it to be back up today if anyone was planning to head for a refund. They could not refund me and will not refund in cash if card was used.
  11. The argument through this thread was camping was not needed. I responded to a guy who refered to transport infrastructure only. For a weekend festival camping is essential in my opinion. Northern lights had a capacity of 25,000. Population of Aberdeen using a google search is at peak with students, 220,000. Take out the students who have gone home, Take out the under 14s who legally can't go and you are aiming to a small crowd. You then need 1in5(at a guess) on Aberdeen to come. The festival was dependant on travel links(Glasgow to Aberdeen is over 70quid on short notice) cheap accommodation or camping to happen. Nobody want a 3 hour trip to search around bed and breakfasts for space. Even then you are 25 per person per night.
  12. Drummonds seems to pull a select crowd, me being one. Many people have a dim view of Drummonds and look at the appearance and assume the worst. I don't have a problem with it and indeed I bought a ticket. However people I work with, socialise with and speak to, many seem to have hang ups when they knew Drummonds was behind this. It's an observation that was clear to me.
  13. Sing when you're winning?
  14. Rock Ness is even more difficult to get to, yet it does fine. I will give my opinion why it has failed. 1) Advertisment. Unless you drink on Belmont street or listen to Northsound radio the Chances of even hearing about it seemed slim. Many people in Aberdeen were oblivious to it, never mind outside Aberdeen. 2) lack of communication. The website took a long time to get up and running and was often 6-8 weeks being late in getting updated. Does not inspire confidence. 3) Aberdeen. In my time in Aberdeen any concert I've been to it's never sold out. Plenty of tickets left. The city is too small and not enough people interested or willing/able to travel here. 4) Camping. People view camping as part of a festival. Some people don't even leave the campsite at major festivals. Otherwise if you want to have a few drinks you either have to stay in the student accommodation which does not sound appealing, or find another 160 minimum for 2 nights in a hotel over and above tickets, travel, drink food etc. It's soon a 600 weekend for a couple. 5) Too much, but not actually enough. The festival had no real identity. There was a little everything for everybody without aiming at a particular group. This leads to next point... 6) 90 for the weekend was fine by me. However looking down south many of the same bands I was interested in feature at other festivals costing far less. 7) The headline act. When you are selling something you have to use your strongest selling point. If people knew what was on the table they would have a decision to buy the tickets or not. Everybody seemed to be waiting for that little bit more. It should have been there from the start. 8) The organiser. This is not my view by the way. The amount of people who did not have trust once they found out it was the people behind Drummonds, confidence was not there. Sadly a lot of people will not go near Drummonds because of their opinion it's a dark, dingy hole and questions such as how can they afford it was asked countless times. May I stress before personal attack that is not my personal view point. I was looking forward to it and sad it's not going to happen. Pretty sick now to read all these people jumping out the woods to say they were going to buy a ticket. It did not take a genius to realise this festival was a big risk and if people did not buy tickets it was doomed. Nobody bought tickets and now people are unhappy it's been cancelled with 4 weeks to go as there is not enough ticket sales to cover costs. I can't believe that it only required 10,000 tickets to be viable and with 4 weeks to go it was decided that was not possible. The rewind festival is in Perth the same weekend and it's still going to happen and it's just oldies that are way past it. People lacked trust in this one and now it's gone tits up, I don't see any chance of it ever happening again.
  15. That one missed shot and the game has changed. Andy looks drained after that miss. Head up son!
  16. Murray just missed a great chance to break there. Playing very well. Quite a few points he has bossed Nadal out of the point.
  17. I was in Glasgow at the start of the week and there is one opening up down next to the Kelvin Hall.
  18. Hyde park is in London though where the population is 7.5 million and Aberdeen is about 200,000? There is a lot of people near home at Hyde park. Northern lights was dependant on people travelling and staying.
  19. If it was not to your taste fair enough. It was to many others. Is there any need to come in and gloat at failure?
  20. Nobody I spoke to in West Lothian, Glasgow or even Fife knew anything about it. Many people I tried to convince were all waiting on the big headline act getting named. The longer that slot remained empty the more doubt and hesitation crept it.
  21. They only needed 10,000 to make it viable. If it was Biffy or Faithless and they named them, 10,000 would have come at ease.
  22. Faithless split up a few months a go did they not?
  23. This is such a shame. I was having doubts with the lack of information, planning and feedback going on. I hope that the costs involved and then to refund people has no negative impact on Drummonds and The Tunnels. Such a shame to see a low interest in what was a pretty good line up in Aberdeen.
