What was the name of that place on Market street that was grab a granny/lunatic bar upstairs and bands played downstairs? The stage was well boingy, like it was made out of cheap MDF. Seen heaps of bands that I can't remember there. Maybe that's the place?
whoops just re-read Daves post. Hotel metro/Pelican club that was it. Greenblade!

Got another Laney Linebacker off e-bay right now. 70 buck, stereo SS noise. Still lookin' for a SS head tho'. easy Amplification.
-
You could perhaps look around for a Marshall Mosfet head. For being solid state, they do sound quite nice.
I had one of them years ago- Mosfet Lead thing. I really liked it. I'm watching a few on e-bay. But GAK have a Laney head with 4x12 cab on some deal for around 400 buck. dunno. I got this Laney Linebacker thing of e-bay a while ago and just love it.

the thing about bass players-
-
I saw you at Cellar 35. I found this gig frustrating: you had some Smash Hits on the go, but it just sounded really bad. I think there’s merit in playing as a two piece, but you have to justify it in your sound and I thought the lack of bass – which is easily amendable? – just killed you. That and your drummers completely terrible sounding cymbals. I know you’ve been around the block, and you don’t need a spring chicken like my telling you this, but just buy a second hand Sabian Pro (I’m not saying you have to spend lots of money, but it’ll sound far fuller than what you’re working with just now) and acquire a bassist, then your music will be enjoyable to listen to. I think your drummer needs a bassist to lock in with. Like I said, I did like yoursongs and want to like Sidca, but I just got a bit bored as it all sounded dreary. The exact same goes forPinact. I didn’t see everythingwesayisfact. I’m fed up with 2-piece bands and their “we don’t need 3 members coz punx, or something” mentality, who then precede to not justify it in any way. Dirtdrinker: now there’s a (local) band that justify their 2-piece dynamic.
Aye, I have a bunch of songs that I would like to play but they don't really work with a two piece- so we might get hold of a bassist, it's just a bit of a pain because we practice out the road a bit and tend to go at it all weekend. Something to think about I suppose, it's just hard to get the right kind of bass player!- I'm buggered if I can find it just now but there's a clip on you tube talking about "proper bass players", which is kind of the problem...
Darren and his super shit cymbals! I was watching the video after the gig and laughing at it. I'm trying to talk him out of using it.....
maybe we should hold auditions for a bass player, that would be fun.

I found a Marionettes badge on the bar in C35 the other night. I totes kept it.
-
Excellent gig the other night.
had a right good time- galoshins stole the show though-jist fucking great- made me grin like a tube- beefheart/ELO/shellac/math/fun/core.
Min Diesel were bang on the money, Pinact a wall of MBV type melodic noise, REALLY wanted to see more of Everythingweesayisfact.
Feedback it if you didnae come down to C35 via you tube-
Zippy's amp was great, I had the smaller version years ago.

It's easy enough to attach the speaker cables to a jack socket.
+ cable goes to the tip
- cable goes to the ring
Maplins can sell you the bits.
To power it MXR do a pedal amp for about sixty quid I think.
You could probably buy an actual amp off here for about that much though......
Cheers min, I've spotted speaker cable online that has them little clips on one end and a guitar jack type thing on the other end, but I'll be miles cheaper knocking up my own I think. (plus added danger thrills given my shambolic soldering and wiring skills) as to the amp- I'm pretty sure one of the combo amps I have has an extension speaker socket....bound to be fun.
-
After a slight accident I now have this left...
Everything got kind of ruined, but the speaker looks okay- I'm really not sure of exactly the bits i need-or where to get them- I suppose I need something to clip onto the speaker connection and some sort of jack socket. Then I was going to get one of them micro amps that are teeny...but I'm really out of my depth here.
HELP!

arf funny chat! well done lockah chap though!

A spoken word monologue extolling the virtues of repeatedly applying punches to Jeremy Clarkson would really step that track up a notch.
I agree, bit like this epic from Fat Goth. http://fatgoth.bandcamp.com/track/and-in-the-end-there-will-only-be-dundee

Our soundcloud is hoaching with new stuff. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. Also I've packaged up a band camp download- mainly to send to Jared Leto, in the hopes it makes him do the right thing.

I really like it. It's fast, I can't do fast- so I admire folk that can. I also like those precise squalls of feedback. I don't drive but this makes me walk quick.
plus, mainly because I'm a twit I'm going to use "validate me" as a song title.
