  1. Thomas Truax at The Moorings! Yas, and indeed, min
  2. Heh, saw that piss-take article on another forum earlier Immense. Agree with Adam above too, whether the boo-boys will be prepared to give McGhee any time whatsoever though...I bet some of them will be calling for his head if we get spanked by Celtic. Going to be an, erm, interesting season anyway. Still, as always: Come On You Reds.
  3. I got into an argument with some dude at the game last night who was getting on McGhee's back. 'Gie him a chance' says I... Reply was 'a chunce? He's been here for weeks and hisna signed onybody min.' Cock Appears he'll be sitting in front of me all season as well Fun times ahead...
  4. Maybe, but it's still pretty fucking embarrassing though. 22 on top of my season ticket for that last night. Nae too happy...
  5. Agreed, Grace was fantastic and the a cappella stuff from Edwyn was the icing on the cake, and really powerful to boot. I gabbled some shite to them afterwards too (which will come as no surprise to anyone that's met me). The time they spent with people was unbelievable and they seemed genuinely interested in meeting folk...
  6. Cheers for putting our logo on your posters dudes! Much appreciated
  7. We've done a wee preview of this by the way Edwyn Collins & Grace Maxwell Good excuse to get some Orange Juice up on the site...
  8. Yeah I was wondering about this too and had a dig around their site and it appears they do for readings from 'bigger' names... You do get a 'complimentary refreshment' from Costa though which, going by their prices, means you'll probably end up technically making a profit
  9. We gave this gig a plug too... The Hijacks, Chewing On Tinfoil, Joey Terrifying, Reuben Teskey
  10. Y'all saw this right? Have Heart, Rise & Fall, Shipwreck AD, By My Hands, Sunset Squad, Dead End Right? Have a good one folks...
  11. It's a goldmine the EE reviews archive... Here's the King Rib one: Mikado Fish and Chips: George Street, Aberdeen - Evening Express So he's staggered out the boozer with 7 in his pocket, bought two suppers, eaten one on the way up the road and the next day decided 'fuck it, that'll do for the paper' "But this king rib ticked all the boxes I want salty, juicy, greasy and with batter that was crispy on one side and soggy on the other." Awesome, thanks for sharing...
  12. Heh. Missed that. Spot on. There was one recently where the guy reviewed a King Rib supper. For fuck's sake.
  13. In fact, the whole 'restaurant review' section in the EE deserves a place on this thread. "...my other half had the (insert safest choice on the menu here) which was fine although we did remark on how it could have been (softer/warmer etc - delete as appropriate) The chips were excellent, with a crispy coating surrounding the potato filling. We left satisfied and the bill came to a very reasonable 13.79" Every fucking week.
  14. We've done a wee preview of this gig by the way... There Will Be Fireworks, Esperi, ashley Park
  15. Just noticed on their myspace that 'Edinburgh electro-folksters' (crap journo chat alert) Found are playing somewhere in Aberdeen on Friday 31 July. Who's putting this on then? Any further details? Good work whoever it is FOUND on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
  16. As promised... Malcolm Middleton, The Pictish Trail The wee documentary on Malcolm is well worth a watch...
  17. Yeah, should be up later this evening Steven, it's short but sweet, unlike myself (tall but a bit of a bastard)...
  18. Not good enough Ross, you should really be standing outside Markies with a megaphone so people can find out what's going on. Like the kind of people who ask me "can you just email me when a band you think I'll like is playing so I don't have to look through your website" Then list the kind of music they like. Seriously. Has happened more than once For fuck's sake.
  19. ...And of course there's The Kiosque, Arts, Music, Film, Aberdeen Sure, the listings are only 7 days in advance at the moment but that will change when our new site goes up (working on it just now, shouldn't be too long)
  20. Outstanding. Tell you what, we'll happily call anyone shit on our website then you can write a sweary song about us. Then that'll be us told, and no mistake. Who's first?
  21. ...and just to add to the general plauditry; This site is one of the best local music forums ANYWHERE (believe me, I've looked). It's totally invaluable to me personally and to what we're trying to do/have got planned for our site. So yeah, thanks folks, don't know what we'd do without you...
  22. Yeah, the only way I found out about it was through the Moshulu website. Similar thing happened with St Deluxe on Saturday at The Tunnels Good Scottish band but very little promotion (as far as I could see, apologies if I'm wrong) Result? Naebody there *Sigh*
  23. Ooof, I imagine I'd have a nervous breakdown trying to find out stage times for every gig, the myspace links will probably happen soon though. Of course it's a lot easier if promoters send us the info in the first place, obviously (some do, some don't at the moment although it seems to be getting better, so cheers to those who do, and a big booo to those who don't)
