Was just thinking its going to be interesting to see how the charts end up this xmas. I doubt very much that the xfactor will be beaten to number one, as theres too many different campaigns started, and people are only going to choose there favorites. However i reckon theres a possiblility we might get some more interesting stuff charting as runners up. It would be quite amusing if the xfactor tune ended up being the only pop song in the top 10 for example.

Its up to individual bands what they want to put up so im not going to argue it with any one, but I have to admit Robert knights got his psychology spot on. Really just comes down to one question, would you prefer to play to a full venue rather then an empty one? There are only two answers to that question yes or no, and if you say yes you do care what people think, even if just a little.

I find ymvst a nice vst for getting 8 bit sounds.

Yeh true enough for the people who just like to chill and play it on easy. I was thinking more about some of my mates who spend ages mastering songs on the hardest difficulty. If they spent that time on a real guitar they would probably be able to play some simpler stuff quite well.

Makes more sense then guitar hero. I never really got why people didnt just go and learn to play a real guitar.

Yeh i had been thinking about trying to get a mate to give me a hand or possibly just getting some lessons to get me started. I take your point about the not jumping into it too quick aswell. Ill maybe try doing some simple stuff by ear like you said. Thanks man

Just wondering if anyones tried or could recommend anywhere in particular for free online drum lessons. Just starting out and wondering what the best sites are. So far ive only tried freedrumlessons.com and they seem arite. Also just any general advice would be greatly appreciated. As a note the genres i would be looking to play would be mainly hardcore and maybe a bit of drum and bass. Cheers

For forming a band influenced by August Burns Red, Parkway Drive and A Day To Remember. We currently have a Vocalist, Drummer and Guitarist. Age of current members is between 19-23 but its not that important if your willing to give it a go.

I seem to remember that when starting out your always told to use the thumb for EAD strings and fingers for GBE, but you shouldnt limit yourself by worrying too much about using certain fingers for certain strings cause it rly just depends what your playing. Im kinda the opposite here cause my picking could do with some work lol. Guess its just what your used to.

Hey Im a 20 year old guitarist looking to get into a band. Im not going into the confusing issue of genres, but something along the lines of Yashin, A Day to Remember, Bless the Fall, Escape The Fate, Paramore, The Blackout, Bring me the Horizon, Parkway Drive, Lostprophets, Underoath, Chiodos, Twin Atlantic, Enter Shikari, You Me At Six, Saosin, Eyes Set to Kill, Senses Fail, you get the idea. Would be willing to go heavier but i prefer a good mix of screaming and singing. Cheers Dan

It may not upset cowell that ratm are no1 if it works. But then again at least we would have a decent xmas no1 for a change.
