"Bump"!!!

Hey, Im looking to join/start a band. Thinking of either a screamo/post hardocore along the lines of A Day to Remember, the Yashin or the Blackout, just to give a few examples. Or id be equally willing to do something a bit more Powerpoppy, as in the likes of Twin Atlantic, You Me At Six, Paramore........... Probably would like to start with some covers. But id like to take it on to writing our own original material. Wouldnt be against going in at the deep end and straight into own stuff though if i teamed up with someone with more experiance. Also the above are just a couple of ideas ive had, but im into a wide variety of music so if your into similar stuff try me. Im a 19 year old guitarist, I got some interest, but quite possibly looking for the whole rest of the band, or a decent offer . Please if you think this sounds like your kinda thing and you can be commited get back to me, really wanting to get this going asap. Thanks Dan

Im a guitarist looking to get involved in a band. Just wanting to get into playing and maybe a bit of composing. Sorta stuff im influenced by would be: Escape The Fate (old), Lostprophets, The Blackout, Yashin, Funeral for a Friend (old), A Day To Remember, Bless The Fall etc Bit flexible aswell. I play to classical grade 4, possibly slightly better. But looking to be commited and hopefully improve dramatically anyway. Cheers Dan

Is it also possibly (in the case of larger bands especially) that instead of just the music nowadays theres a whole lot more goes into these events. Whereas when you talk about a small band it tends to be a gig. Just a thought.

Ive been playing Classical Guitar mainly up to this point and im about grade 4. Im 18 Years old and my influences would be Lostprophets, Muse, Funeral For a Friend, The Blackout, Yashin, Senses Fail to name a few, but im not that fussy as long as its in that kind of genre. Been trying to get involved in getting a band going for some time. I thought i had something but it dont seem to be getting anywere. So ive never actually been in a band that has performed live. I guess a covers band might be a good place to start but id probably want to go on to write my own material in the future.

Arite cheers for the advice ppl. Im definatly gonna give it a go anyway. Anyone got any recommendations on a good cheapish bass to get me started???

Been thinking about taking up Bass for a while now. I can play Guitar and im about grade 4 on that. Just really wondering what are the major differences between playing guitar or bass besides the obvious ones like using your fingers instead of a pick. Or alternatively (hopefully ) someone will be able to tell me its a piece of cake and ill manage no problem lol.

Not so sure about the singing tho. I try my best but im not always that good lol.
