You're an idiot.
thanks for that meaningful contribution.

Pretty gutted it's closing to be honest, I go pretty much every week. It's about the only half decent club in Aberdeen, other than maybe Snafu. But tbh Snafu doesn't do a lot for me other than the fact they sometimes get good djs like Erol Alkan and Vitalic.
I don't really pretend to be a connaisseur of dance/dj'ing etc but generally I liked what I heard at Kef. And it sure as hell beats the listening to a rundown of the top 40 in Priory, Pearl Lounge or Liquid. I might just stay away from clubs completely now. Aberdeen is fucking shit

colon open bracket sound like Panic at the Disco with a nintendo playing in the background. Awesome o_O

The problem I have is that I only seem to have found three bands with guitars that I really, really like this decade, coz most stuff seems to be derivative pish, gumph!!
Maybe that's part of my problem. It just seems like anyone I like misses out Aberdeen though. Why the fuck is Paul Weller only playing in Motherwell and Dundee in his upcoming tour
MGMT for example are one of the very few new bands I like but I just knew Aberdeen would not be included in their upcoming tour.
-
I like to consider my music tastes to be pretty varied but rarely does anything announced interest me. Whenever decent bands come to Scotland they generally seem to bypass Aberdeen, at least ones I like.
I think I've been to about 2 gigs in the last year if being perfectly honest. I know glasgow and Edinburgh are much bigger but I could probably find a decent band to see pretty much every week there. Even Inverness, Dundee and Motherwell have been getting some quality acts in the past 12 months. 65daysofstatic for example are playing in Inverness soon, I know for a fact they'd get plenty tickets sold in Aberdeen.

What a cool name for a band!

They still around? Saw them a few months ago on MTV2 and they were so bad that I'm surprised they've made it this long. top marks to them
-
got tickets for Steve Coogan, 107 quid for 3 tickets . Not sure about this. Although I've seen them all I'm not sure if I'll still be interested in like a year. I probably only really find about 40% of the Mighty Boosh that funny.
-
Not a huge fan of DPT but I feel compelled to go just because I'm such a Libs fanboy . Seen them twice already though
-
Was good from what I can remember. Downstairs there was a heck of neds going around and that's coming from someone who sometimes went to budz bar and Drum
-
Noisia are bloody awesome! Not sure if I can really afford it though, going out on friday as well
-
Hoping to see them on Fri, can I get at the door ?
Last time I was at Snafu was for Erol alkan, which was superb 8-)
-
Christ, it must be wonerful being you. Fucking boring twat .
-
Got my tickets a few days ago, should be good.

Pidgeon Detectives are good though where as The Automatic aren't:down:
o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O
Ones a piece of shite and the others a piece of poo

Ahhhh yes. 'One Night Only' (which incidently sounds like they should be a cheesy 70's tribute act?)
Another in a long line of shitty bands such as the view, the pigeon detectives, the holloways, the enemy, jo lean and the jing jang wank, etc etc the list is eeeendless.
Anyway, my point is that they are all bollocks, and sound the same, and are about as 'rock' as aqua.
Think i'll pass.
Couldn't have put it better mate. The amount of those bands are frightening. Pull Tiger Tail, Dykeenies, Courteeners, Enemy, Pigeon Detectives, yaddddda yada yada......Although the in thing now seems to be cheap electro bands as opposed to indie ones.
-
yes, that would sound about right
-
Is that the band who are basically a cheap imitation of The View (Yes, I didn't think that could be possible either)?
The indie scene in the UK seems to be so bad that cheap imitations are copying other cheap imitations.
-
Not wanting to nitpick here, but seriously if you are going along to SEE them dj then perhaps you really need to re evaluate why you are going in the first place.
I reckon this night will be well attended and i'm guessing they will be playing a nice mix of classic manchester tunes, new indie and some of those indie friendly electro tunes the kids love.
As you say, it's likely that they will play a good selection of tunes etc.
I don't think anyone will go because they expect them to be Erol Alkan or Scratch Perverts on the decks.

I wish Liquid would fall into a hell hole and take pearl lounge, priory et al with it.
long live kef, snafu and moshulu
-
Well go fuck off and ruin someone elses thread then
-
I know what he meant, and it really wouldn't be worth seeing. The novelty of seeing those cretins goof about would wear thin within 5 minutes and you'd have just paid 13 quid for a shit dj set. Plus the place would be full of boorish idiots like yourself, y'know the type that find bands like Glasvegas a bit queer.
So have you seen them playing a dj set then?
-
One of the member did a dj set at Kef but it wasn't Pendulum as such.
