  1. If anyone gets a presale link could they pm me or post it up and I'll do the same.

Also, I saw this on another forum and it could be a similar setlist:

    'Rock 'N' Roll Star'

    'Lyla'

    'The Shock Of The Lightning'

    'Cigarettes And Alcohol'

    'The Meaning Of Soul'

    'To Be Where There's Life'

    'Waiting For The Rapture'

    'The Masterplan'

    'Songbird'

    'Slide Away'

    'Morning Glory'

    'Ain't Got Nothin''

    'The Importance of Being Idle'

    'I'm Outta Time'

    'Wonderwall'

    'My Big Mouth'

    'Supersonic'

'Don't Look Back In Anger' (acoustic)

    'Falling Down'

    'Champagne Supernova'

    'I Am The Walrus'

That was their setlist at the gig they done the other night. No Live Forever . But Slide Away, My Big Mouth and Supersonic all made a return.

  2. What have they done wrong? We've managed to steal vast amounts of highly qualified Eastern Europeans (with more to come once we open up to Romania/Bulgaria), a lot of whom will have professional qualifications and degrees - for instance, it's normal for Poles to have at least a Masters degree. Even some of the Poles here doing menial jobs will have ridiculously good qualifications, I know of one particular pisshead that works in a factory, yet has a degree and vast work experience in electronics. The reason he can't work in electronics here? The government cut ESL funding quite dramatically, and so it's quite difficult for them to find the time to learn outside of a structured environment.

The big mistake Labour made was opening up the labour markets without making any sort of plan to expand public services, and in some cases, woefully misjudging things. It's true enough that there's schools struggling to cope with an influx of children that don't speak English - but that's the government's fault, not anyone else's.

EU citizens coming over is largely outwith their control. The main thing they have probably done is made it so easy for illegal immigrants to come over

  3. Enoch Powell is largely misquoted and taken out of context.

Eric Clapton claimed it was because a foreigner grabbed his wifes ass at a party, and that he was hammered.

And to MrBrown, you realise this countrys economy is completely reliant on the influx of immigrants to sustain jobs, you xenophobic fuck.

so if we rely on anything that makes it ok? Maybe if benefits weren't so easily handed out then there wouldn't be unemployment in the first place.

Xenophobic fuck? ahahahahaha. As stated previously I have no problem with immigrants, my problem is with the sheer ludicrous amount of them.

Keep the negative feedback coming folks, having 3 red blocks would be awesome.

    Kiss kiss.

  4. Spain? This is the same Spain which in the tourists traps has lost any sense of culture due to lager lout British (and a fair few German) going over. Last time I was in one of these tourist towns I seen nothing but English/Irish pubs and restaurants.

As for sticking up for Johnny Rotten's "too many foreigners" does he not remember that his family are all Irish and that he was subject to abuse for it. I can't find the quote where Lydon said that but i don't doubt Ryan. The same Lydon who mingled with IRA members and sympathisers.

Xenophobe, Tory supporter, possible Daily Mail reader...you'd never guess he was a Rangers fan. ;)

Why are you picking the tourist traps? Spain doesn't just consist of Tenerife and Ibiza. Most of mainland spain isn't touristy at all.

That's a bit like measuring culture in the United Kingdom by looking at Blackpool...

  5. Britain is already a mix of cultures being made up of several countries in the first place. There's been terrorism in the UK for a lot longer than you've graced the earth and gang culture as well.

Your outlook is very blinkered and Naive.

Over time culture and tradition is built up.

Recently I went to Spain. There I met the locals, the vast majority Spanish. I saw the local culture, I sampled the local food and wine. I visited the local landmarks and historic spots.

Then I came back to a country which appeared to have no identity but it might have been Poland...

I can trace my family tree back 500 years and not once has it appeared to go past northern Ireland, Scotland or england. That to me means something. Immigration is fine to a point but what the Labour government has done is a fucking joke.

Regarding your point about gang culture being here previously, of course it was to some element. But I don't think cities like London were running riot with yardies and what not stabbing and shooting each other over drug money.

  6. When Johnny Rotten claimed 'England has too man foreigners', called a French female reporter a 'fucking whore' and said he voted Tory in the last election, he died in my eyes. I'm a Sex Pistols fan, and that's what makes it hurt even more. I don't think Johnny himself actually started a fight or made the racist comments put towards Kele, I think he's too media-savvy to do that but I don't doubt he laughed and riled up is bouncers into saying those things, it's just another nail in his already heavy coffin.

As Alkaline said, Gruff Rhys is not the kind of guy to make things up, he has literally nothing to gain from taking either side in the argument. John Lydon has become the cartoon that many claimed he always was and it's heart-breakingly sad to have to admit it.

So England doesn't have too many foreigners? talk about stating the fucking obvious.

As for voting for Tory, maybe he just thought it was a case of better the devil you know. I'm sure Michael Howard would have done a far superior job than that of Blair and Brown (not hard).

  7. I still think it will sell out pretty quickly, they still have a massive fan base, perhaps not the mass market appeal of 1996, but there are still plenty of Britpop loving bams out there who will love to go to the AECC so they can buy expensive beer and then throw it at somebody (why do people do that?)

    You're quite a ray of sunshine aren't you ?

  8. I don't mind tribute bands but I don't really see the point in a tribute for a band like the Foo Fighters. I saw The Clashed at Drummonds and they were superb. But what is the point in covering a band that is still going and not that old? They're not even that good anyway. Each to their own though, I'm certainly not going to start crying over the matter like most on here seem to be doing

  9. Biffy are professional musicians, it's their job, ergo they can't sell out. If they change their material to appeal to a broader market, it's economic good sense. They'd be stupid if they released stuff that everybody hated.

Selling out...the last resort of the untalented, the amatuer, the purveyor of outdated 19th century political thought and the child.

What a ridiculous comment. Of course a band can sell out and Biffy largely have sold out. Obviously a band has to make money but a band should always produce the music they want to create as opposed to the music that they think everyone will buy.

If you take a band like Radiohead, they are doing what they want and because they are good at it, they do well. a lot of their stuff really isn't that commercially viable but still they're huge.

I'm sure singing the Kaiser Chiefs singing about 'Nannanananana' is good sense economically. In terms of music as an art form though it is cringe worthy and embarrassing.

Sadly modern day music is all style over substance. Would the pigeon detectives and enemy have got half of the airplay 10-15 years ago? I doubt it.

  10. Burley is a much better manager so no reason why not. Getting rid of McCulloch and Daily has been a clever move (and I'm a Rangers fan).

Eck is a terrible manager and bottled it in Georgia.

  11. Fit aboot 'h' Torry Heid Shop min, is at nae still on 'i go.

No, I still can't decide how to spell the Doric glottal stop.

Glasgow is pretty good if you want anything from high-glassware (Phat Glass Designs, Roor), downwards. For myself I favour the Basil Bush 'Einstein' four chambered affair, the smoothest toot this side of a vape. Stuff on Union St, (Glasgow) will sort you out with all this plus a crossbow!! or mad mental machete maaan.

    Or...

'Einstein' - Multi Chamber Glass Bong

That's a great site, I use it all the time. Summer Daze ftw

  12. The Sex Pistols are one of the best bands of all time. Iconic and a figurehead of the punk movement.

Bloc Party are a mediocre band made to look better because of how terrible modern day music is in Britain.

Just because the Sex Pistols have one album it really doesn't matter. Never Mind the Ballocks is that good that in one LP there is all the music they really needed to create.
