  1. This reminds me of when I was a kid and there was some shitey amature wrestling event on at the Music Hall. The Undertaker was 'set to appear' and it completely sold out. Of course you can imagine everyones horror when the Undertaker was actually some fat bloke with a wig.

I'm just glad that I didn't miss Shane though, I've become somewhat addicted to the Pogues in recent years and I know every song backwards.

  2. He was attacked by a couple of neds over by Kincorth & quite badly hurt IIRC. Spent a while in hospital as a result. :(

I've seen him about quite recently but he's no longer wearing the full Dons strip. Just a scarf.

Is he the guy with the crutches that's banned from union st? Last year in the snow me and my mate pretty much carried him down union st. Next day I woke up with man flu. Never help a tramp in the cold when you've been drinking

  3. Well I thought the whole thing was great. It got better as it went on, but even the early stuff with Pauline Calf and Saxondale was damn funny I thought.

Surprised that there is so much negativity on here after hearing so much laughter last night.

Come on, you're surprised there's negativity on here? Please

  4. I went to the gig last night and I must say that it was a bit disappointing. There was a lot of crap which had to be endured for only a few moments of real Coogan genius. Alan Partridge was the best part. The first half of the show was pretty unfunny.I did like the filler with the nervous guy from the arts council though.

I thought that was by far the worst part of the night by a mile and I was cringing. Different strokes for different folks I guess eh !

  5. To be fair though, people come back from the dead and escape from prison in 24 all the time.

    Escaping from prison is possible.

Escaping from a zipped bodybag when you've clearly just died isn't.

They've brought characters back before but only if you haven't actually properly seen them die or if they perform some medical procedure like 2 seconds later.

  6. I did laugh a lot. Particularly at the PC World bit, where my friend and I were literally propping each other up.

But heckling ahas = plant, IMO.

There was one bloke absolutely hammered at the back who kept shouting it. I doubt he was a plant by the look of him .

The 'ahas' part was obviously partly rehearsed though and he was looking for people to shout it repetitively.

  7. You never saw Tony die anyway. Jack cradled him and "thought" he was dying.

I've read this suggestion a lot.

However, I clearly remember the bodybag being zipped up and taken away . It happened right at the start of the next episode. If he survived, would have Jack not been informed or anything. Come on

  8. the Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

Not entirely sure what to make of it.

On the one hand I loved the cinematography and Affleck + Pitt are two of my favourite actors and didn't disappoint.

On the other hand, it was bloody boring at times, far too long and a bit too surreal.

I think basically the problem is that they tried to string out what little historical facts they did have too much. The narrative was a bit overblown at times as well.

  9. It was ok, which kind of sums up recent 24 seasons.

The first two seasons of 24 were absolutely magnificient but the last season was really weak and monotonous at times.

Redemption started off quite well but it ended up all being a bit pointless and reverted to type. also, talk about totally underusing a big actor in Robert Carlisle.

they seem obssessed with killing off any half decent character these days.

Never mind though, at least we have Tony Almeida. Talk about jumping the fuckin shark. How are they going to pull that one off? Jack wakes up and his death was all a dream ?

24 is just generally a trashy, cheap action show now though with the odd presidential conspiracy thrown in. They don't put a lot of thought into it anymore.

  10. Am I the only one that absolutely hates the current brand of American 'comedy' that features any involvement from the likes of Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Judd Apatow etc? I mean that film Knocked Up literally has about 3 possibly humorous scenes. How the fuck does this tripe get funding?

Bring back the days of Richard Pryor!

  11. Just finished watching season 4. Absolutely terrific. Don't want to rush season 5 but tempted to at least watch an episode or 2 just now just to see what they're all up to ;).

It's certainly left the void left from the sopranos. Will probably watch the rest of the shield next but imo it's not half as good as the sopranos or wire.

PS - Snoop's got to be the funniest and coolest characters ever. I love the bit where one of the kids (Randy or Namond I think) say something like 'Hey Snoop your sisters in my class' and she says 'What tha fuck are you fuckin high or somfin nigga!!!???' :D
