  1. Nah, not at all, that's why I asked. Sorry, but that guitar's just "wrong". What the hell were you thinking putting strat knobs on it?!
  2. Which model is that? It seems to have a strange mish-match of features. Not that I'm selling it, but here's my 1999 6119 which I upgraded with TV Jones pickups, a bar bridge and a "Chet" pickguard. If you do get a 6120 then I would seriously recommend putting TV Jones pups in it. In fact, you might be as well picking up a 5120 and upgrading the pickups and hardware. If you end up buying new then Peter Cooks is just about the best in the UK, but even with tax and duty you might be as well buying in the states from somewhere like Shanghai Music or Dave's.
  3. Yes, we should also chop thieves' hands off, seems to work well as a deterrent in the Middle East.
  4. Even taking all that into account... killing the burglar with a shotgun is over the top IMO.
  5. I thought it worked OK after the first number where the "beats" were too loud. Didn't seem like the DJ guy had much license though, it wasn't far off some guy playing along to backing tapes in a pub.
  6. Can't say I know much about the detail of the case, but shooting and killing burglars was perhaps a tad over the top.
  7. If you want to hear the Steve Earle gig again I upped my recording of it onto Dime: www.dimeadozen.org :: EzTorrent v0.6beta :: Login
  8. But right in the eyes of thousands of Daily Mail readers who supported that mentalist farmer dude who went Bronson on a burglar a few years ago.
  9. No, but I saw Steve Earle at Celtic Connections a couple of weeks ago. Good gig.
  10. Well, I definitely won't be pointing Mrs Bigsby in the direction of this thread. She goes mental worrying about stuiff like this happening when I'm working away. She always insists on getting a Yale lock that locks automatically installed whenever we move into a new house, and with good reason it seems.
  11. Tightrope and Bronco Billy are up there with his best. The Dead Pool and Absolute Power are OK.
  12. Eastwood's a legend, and I could never bring myself to admit that any of his films are utter gash, even though Firefox, City Heat and The Rookie probably do fall into that category.
  13. So does Sudden Impact, the fourth Dirty Harry film.
  14. I bought a Jo McCafferty CD on impulse once on ebay. Oops.
  15. Exactly what happened to me. But I thought I would canvass opinion before getting rid of it.
  16. Well, I thought it was a good idea. Maybe going active was a step too far though. I could sell you an EMG H4 for 25, it's a passive version of the 81. I bought it for a Squier project guitar, but with hindsight I should stay away from metal pickups, not so good for country.
  17. Yeah, I was thinking of giving it a go, but I know Mrs Bigsby will moan about having to learn something new. I'll possibly use Firefox and leave her with IE, it'll save me clearing the history all the time.
  18. Care to elaborate? At first glance it looks pretty similar, and I'm guessing that IE has now knicked many of Firefox's innovations.
  19. Not the slightly crappy Clint Eastwood action movie, but the web browser. I installed it accidentally while updating Realplayer, and now I'm wondering if I should keep it. Advantages over IE?
  20. I'd agree with Rear Window, I'm also partial to a bit of Dial M for Murder.
  21. His funeral will be in Australia, I doubt these clowns will be allowed in.
  22. Nope, never heard of them. When were they around? To be fair, I think "ska-punk" is a pile of balls, but I've heard of The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones, are they like them?
  23. Aaargh! Spoilers please! Started reading but managed to stop when it became clear that you were going to ruin the film for me. Stepping away from this thread until tomorrow night when I watch this.
