  1. The amp is all valve(see pics), about 6 watts, but sounds louder at full tilt. It has one Channel, but two inputs one high(solo) and one low(rhythm)and with volume and tone. The amp switches on via the tone control. Saying it only does clean is a bit misleading. Most vintage amps up to about the early 70's didn't have a master volume, this meant that in order to get overdrive you had to turn them up loud. That's when you get in to natural power valve overdrive/saturation. 8-)
  2. Ok, 100 quid, but you need to come pick the amp up from Sheddocksley?
  3. Do you think the sound people at Aberdeen venues would appreciate this set up?
  4. For sale: Rare mid 60's WEM Clubman MKII. This is quite a rare model, more information can be found here: The WEM Clubman The amp is fully working and as far as I am aware original externally and internally including the speaker. Valve wise it currently has one Tesla EZ81, a G/E EL84 and a yellow print Mullard ECC81 fitted. A simple volume and tone control set up, the amp switches on via the tone control. There is some crackling when the amp is first turned on, but this settles down after a minute or so. Like most old amps it could do with a service, but it works fine enough as it is. The front Aluminum grille is loose. I believe this actual combo would have had a silver/grey strip along the bottom which would have held the grille in place. I have seen similar models with screws on each corner holding it in place(I don't think that is a stock feature though). The grille is quite thin so some screws on either corner would be an easy fix. It's a great sounding practice/home recording amp with a nice warm overdrive at full volume. It really comes alive with the addition of a rangemaster type treble booster... Sound clips of the amp can be found here: MySpace.com - WEM Clubman MKII - UK - Other - www.myspace.com/wemclubmanmkii 200 ono
  5. I'll be using this instead... My credit card is seriously over spent so some stuff has to go!
  6. For sale: two celestion greenback speakers, in near mint condition. They are currently inside a 70's Vox cab, I believe they are stock to the cabinet. The codes on the speakers date them to May 1973. Not sure how much they are worth, new greenbacks go for about 80 - 100 for a pair, so I'm open to offers. pm or reply here if you are interested in buying them.
  7. Anyone interested? It now without the midax horns so weighs a bit less. 8-)
  8. Someone has been able to get multitracks, ie seperate channels for various songs via their rock band game! First of all, download this: Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder You need the audacity player to play the multitracks, cubase, cool edit etc won't work. Then download multitracks of your favourites from this list: 29fingers.mogg 29fingers.mogg areyougonnabemygirl.mogg areyougonnabemygirl.mogg ballroomblitz.mogg ballroomblitz.mogg blackholesun.mogg blackholesun.mogg blitzkriegbop.mogg blitzkriegbop.mogg blooddoll.mogg blooddoll.mogg brainpower.mogg brainpower.mogg cantletgo.mogg cantletgo.mogg celebrityskin.mogg celebrityskin.mogg cherubrock.mogg cherubrock.mogg creep.mogg creep.mogg danicalifornia.mogg cherubrock.mogg daylatedollarshort.mogg daylatedollarshort.mogg deadonarrival.mogg deadonarrival.mogg detroitrockcity.mogg detroitrockcity.mogg dontfearthereaper.mogg dontfearthereaper.mogg electricversion.mogg electricversion.mogg entersandman.mogg entersandman.mogg epic.mogg epic.mogg flirtinwithdisaster.mogg flirtinwithdisaster.mogg foreplaylongtime.mogg foreplaylongtime.mogg foreplaylongtime_short.mogg foreplaylongtime_short.mogg gimmeshelter.mogg gimmeshelter.mogg gowiththeflow.mogg gowiththeflow.mogg greengrass.mogg greengrass.mogg greengrass_short.mogg greengrass_short.mogg hereitgoesagain.mogg hereitgoesagain.mogg highwaystar.mogg highwaystar.mogg igetby.mogg igetby.mogg imsosick.mogg imsosick.mogg inbloom.mogg inbloom.mogg ithinkimparanoid.mogg ithinkimparanoid.mogg learntofly.mogg learntofly.mogg mainoffender.mogg mainoffender.mogg maps.mogg maps.mogg missqueen.mogg missqueen.mogg nexttoyou.mogg nexttoyou.mogg nightmare.mogg nightmare.mogg orangecrush.mogg orangecrush.mogg outside.mogg outside.mogg pleasure.mogg pleasure.mogg reptilia.mogg reptilia.mogg runtothehills.mogg runtothehills.mogg sabotage.mogg sabotage.mogg sayitaintso.mogg sayitaintso.mogg seven.mogg seven.mogg shouldistay.mogg shouldistay.mogg suffragettecity.mogg suffragettecity.mogg thehandthatfeeds.mogg thehandthatfeeds.mogg timewehad.mogg timewehad.mogg timmy.mogg timmy.mogg tomsawyer.mogg tomsawyer.mogg trainkeptarollin.mogg trainkeptarollin.mogg trainkeptarollin_short.mogg trainkeptarollin_short.mogg vasoline.mogg vasoline.mogg wanteddeadoralive.mogg wanteddeadoralive.mogg waveofmutilation.mogg waveofmutilation.mogg welcomehome.mogg welcomehome.mogg whenyouwereyoung.mogg whenyouwereyoung.mogg wontgetfooled.mogg wontgetfooled.mogg wontgetfooled_short.mogg wontgetfooled_short.mogg Enjoy!
  9. They are, and I've apologized for that! A quick read through of some moaning by others and then that out of context 'studios can do what they like' quote resulted in a wrong take on things... sorry!
  10. Well, my apologies on that one then! People above seemed surprised that you had their track on it, that's all. I don't claim expertise on anything and whether I have blah blah airplay doesn't matter, the fact is you can get equally good results recording yourself in comparison to recording at a place like exile.
  11. Studios that respect the people who have recorded there tend not to do such things without permission! This CD sends out a bad message imo, this is exile recording studios... I will do what the fuck I want with your recordings! Anyway, you can get as good a result as exile recordings or better by recording 'at home' via the many means available to people now. 8-)
  12. Whatever helps people achieve their idea of a perfect recording is great! Whether you like the end result is another matter. Every production/recording trick can be seen as cheating and for sure you're favourite album will have used some. The stated possibilities of that software is fantastic, I look forward to hearing what will occur when people really get inside it and start experimenting. 8-)
  13. It can be a means for musical expression, for entertainment, a job, a way to pull chicks etc etc. There's nothing really to get.
  14. I'm not, you're missing my point! I like some noisy shit, but there is good and bad noisy shit. For various reasons I thought MM's weren't good, not because they made a noise, but just because I thought they were crap at it! I don't think anyone was expecting some sweet pop symphonies and that is not what is being talked about here.
  15. So just turning up and making a noise is enough? Any noise is good enough!?
  16. Erk, that name is for a start! The reason I didn't like what I heard was because there seemed to be no relation between the drums, the samples and the guitar other than that they were being played on the same stage. I get the feeling that they could have played anything and some people would have been happy.
  17. Aye, for sure, but there are ways to make up for lost time, especially when you know there is an 11pm curfew, setting up a completely different drum kit is not one of em. o_O Anyway, the night went ahead and everyone played so it doesn't really matter now. 8-)
  18. You can hang out at captain toms any night of the week and here people play as shit as that for free!
  19. There's four 12inch Celestion Silver Series 60 watt speakers, wired for 16 ohms. There's two midax horns which are disconnected. It's approx: 40 x 27 x 12. Because it is open partially backed it weighs about the same as a standard Marshall 4x12. One just sold on ebay for 550.
  20. Erk, with all that, I'm amazed the night went ahead at all, well done for pulling it off and of course good on the bands for getting up on stage!
  21. Mic up a cement mixer and a seagull crying and put it through a distorted amp and then play the drums along to it and you'll achieve the same sound.
