  1. Probably the only release Type have put out that I've not been able to get into at all.
  2. I saw there was a pre-order for this up on Norman last week and was going to message you about it. Excited.
  3. A big thank you to those who came down last night, it was really appreciated. Here's a video of Kaddish from the Perth gig (courtesy of Tom Mitchell): Kaddish - Live on Vimeo Huw filmed some of Bonehouse set at the Dundee gig, should be online soon. Edinburgh gig with Kaddish/Bonehouse is this Friday (4th March) in Banshee Labyrinth, if anyone be interested. Facebook event page: Login | Facebook
  4. Totally disagree over World Class Listening Problem. While it's not as good as American Don/What Burns Never Returns, when I thought Ian Williams was at his best = Don Cab at their best, I think it has some great songs and is a really solid album. Sounds dead meaty, the bass/drums in particular, and most of the riffs are ace. I get where Dave is coming from with it being a different band - they needed two guitar players from then WCLP on, at least live, to make it sound right - but I wouldn't say the two versions of Don Cab sound similar, except the drumming, and even then this is slightly different because of the change in guitars. I never really liked much of Punkgasm and was put off by the tracks with vocals (and Damon Che on guitar instead of drums...). Might go back to it. There was a really interesting interview with Steve Albini years ago about Don Cab and the in-band disagreements/mad musical abilities. Going to try and find it again.
  5. Couldn't get a venue in time for these shows. Trying for a date in April but will depend on where various people are at the time. There will be a gig in Glasgow with Kaddish, Bonehouse and ourselves at some point though, I'm sure. I know a few Glasgow folk are coming across to the Edinburgh date (on the 4th March) too.
  6. We have 20 screen-printed copies of the poster and they'll be available for free on the night.

    Your current read?

Finished "The Informers" by Bret Easton Ellis. 3 in HMV just now and a collection of short stories. A couple of good ones (including a vampire take on American Psycho). Worth a punt, I guess. Currently pummelling through "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey. Loving it.
  8. Aye, good album. 12"s before it are good too. Rather than start a new thread, I've ended up with a spare copy of Altar Eagle "Mechanical Gardens" on CD. Still in the shrink wrapping. After 5 for it (what I paid). Get in touch if interested.

    Your current read?

That link to the hardback edition says it's 12.99, I take it they're cheaper in-store?
  10. Elizabeth would like that Devendra Banhart CD, please. I can collect it and that Caribou LP off you at the same time if it's easier?

    Your current read?

Just finished "American Psycho" by Bret Easton Ellis. BRUTAL in places (the rat and the pipe...JESUS), but was actually pretty funny too. The entire chapters devoted to Genesis, Tina Turner and Huey Lewis and the News were great and in a strange way it made me want to know a lot more about men's fashion. Just started Jack Kerouac "Big Sur". So far, so good.
  12. Les Savy Fav LP is SOLD.
  13. I'd got it wrong, it's "Ocean Beach" that's the double 10" (and it's on 4AD). Would you consider selling it? That picture is AMAZING.
  14. The following are in great nick or are still sealed. Happy to meet in town or post them out. Prices don't include postage but I'm not after much. King Midas Sound - Waiting For You (Hyperdub) 8 Les Savy Fav - Let's Stay Friends (Chunklet) 7 (sealed) Lords - This Ain't A Hate Thing, It's A Love Thing (Gringo) 6 (sealed) Meneguar - The In Hour (Woodsist) 7 Meneguar - I Was Born At Night (Narshadaa) 7 PM on here, post in the thread or email me on ross_mclay AT hotmail.co.uk Thanks
  15. "Old Ramon" comes as a double 10" and "Du Koo Kim" (just as Mark Kozelek) is just a single 10" - is it either or these? I don't think he has any other 10" releases.
  16. Newcastle, Dundee and Inverness have been postponed according to their latest twitter post.

  18. Can only echo what's been said. Only caught the end of Ashley P, he was sounding good. First time I've seen Alan do his solo thing and liked it. The zither improve was great. Kogumaza were freaking ACE. One of the best bands I've seen in a while. RIFFS. Was good to speak to the guitar player Chris, who I've bought posters from before and I really like his other bands. Lovely guy.
  19. This any good, David? Been meaning to pick it up.
  20. I had the same problem when this first came out and took it back to the shop where a helpful sales chappy demonstrated how to get out. You use the sonar beam that Ecco shoots (like blue semi-circle ray thing, if I remember right) and you fire it at the blue circle (should be about in the right hand side of the level?). The blue circle will start to shake after a few blasts; keep going and then it'll start spinning and eventually turn into a portal of some kind. Dive into it and it takes you to the next level. Let me know if this works.
