How much are you thinking on spending? I bought an HP all-in-one job (scanner and printer) for about 45. It's excellent for printing text (it's fast etc) and it's fairly good for photos and scanning too. And the ink is fairly cheap compared to others. HP Photosmart C3180 if you're interested. Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'd imagine that the plane is easier and cheaper, but it's the experience I guess.

I was thinking about going to Paris on my own during the last week of September. As far as getting there goes, my plan is to fly to London then do the Eurostar thing?
