  1. Thomas Truax returns to Aberdeen, this time with support from Matricarians (Alan Davidson, Kitchen Cynics) and Craig John Davidson "There's a fine line between the unique and the insane, and it's a line which New Yorker Thomas Truax (pronounced troo-aks) straddles with his chin held high and ' The Hornicator ' firmly glued to his left ear." - The Guardian In the process of creating his Monthly Journal album, Thomas returns to the UK, no doubt bringing with him his band of self-constructed instruments, some Lynchian weirdness, and the latest news from Wowtown, all presented with an alt-folk flair which has made his live shows the stuff of legend. www.thomastruax.com/ Joining Thomas will be Alan Davidson's Matricarians project, the more abstract experimental loops-and-weirdness sibling to Kitchen Cynics. "Alan Davidson & his Matricarians cohorts create haunted soundscapes from singing bowl, guitar, zither, clarinet, piano and theremin...Gorgeous Stuff." - Melody Bar www.facebook.com/matricarians www.myspace.com/matricarians Rounding off the bill is singer-songwriter Craig John Davidson, whose finely crafted acoustic folk has made him a regular fixture on the local gig circuit, and has provided support to the likes of I Am Kloot and The Pines. http://www.reverbnation.com/craigjohndavidson Doors 7:30 Tickets £6 advance, £7 on the door, available downstairs in One Up and from wegottickets - http://www.wegottickets.com/event/152166 Midnight Resistance on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/MidnightResistancePromotions Midnight Resistance on Twitter - http://www.twitter.com/MResistance
  2. JakeBassist, what bit of town are you in? Sounds rough as fuck.
  3. When I was looking for a flat two years ago every second place I viewed was like this, the sad thing is I think people just go for these in desparation due to them being slightly cheaper than the alternative.
  4. I reckon the postie is nicking my Lovefilm DVDs. Cunt.
  5. Not having a ticket for Arab Strap tonight and not being able to go even if I did have one...
  6. People who let off fireworks at 2 in the morning. Was anyone else woken up by this last night?
  7. Someone left a beer bottle filled with piss on my doorstep this morning. Nearly knocked it over going to work. :|
  8. Utter cunt. Other good stuff about the gig, the lovely 3LP version of the album they were selling at the merch stand.
  9. Great gig, some arsehole's phone went off repeatedly though which was an annoyance.
  10. You might be better off listing it on Discogs/eBay and get much more for it if you can be arsed. Great price for the lot though, skint right now otherwise I would have went for it.
  11. Stick them up on the songkick page for the gig? http://www.songkick.com/concerts/10228583-thomas-truax-at-tunnels

  13. Pulp a few weeks back in London. A little too much off We Love Life to be honest but I'm not complaining. Had to leave during Misshapes in the encore to get the sleeper train back to Aberdeen though.
  14. The death of 120 minutes was pretty much the death of music televison for me. Remember you could put together a playlist yourself on their website and it would come on at 2 in the morning? Great times.
  15. Stumbled upon this yesterday, I don't think it's been formally announced yet. He was amazing in the Lemon Tree earlier this year, it's a shame he isn't playing there again. http://www.boxofficeaberdeen.com/prod-productions_details.asp?VenueID=88&pid=3806
  16. That is absolutely shocking news. I was planning a trip to Dublin in the new year as well. Cunts.
  17. I didn't even know this happened. Wow. Saying that, wouldn't have minded seeing Radiohead play the Lemon Tree back in 95.
  18. I managed to get mine off Ticketmaster yesterday, not sure if there are any left now mind you.
  19. I'm looking for 2 tickets as well... Wonder if it'll be worth ringing up the Lemon Tree on the day in case there's been any returns?
  20. I sold a spare I had for 130 just to make sure I got rid of it.
