I just hate the idea that there'll be a thing there that isn't One Up, some useless place that used to mean something to all of us.

Went into today and the place has been picked apart due to the 20% off closing sale. Where were all these people when the shop was struggling? No point arguing over it now obviously but it's still an absolute fucking shame.

It's just sinking in that it's really going to be gone, fuck. I can see this having a knock on effect on smaller gigs, there's really no central hub anymore for tickets/posters etc. Less chance of people taking risks on new/lesser known bands coming up here too.

Vinyl + use the download codes to put MP3s on other devices. Works out pretty fine. Also sites like bleep/bandcamp/boomkat which give you an instant download with a physical purchase.

I anticipate HMV being replaced by yet another pound shop on Union Street. With One Up (most likely) going at the end of the month Aberdeen will have Cavern and fuck all else for music buying it seems.

The Wimpy at the beach is horrible, they don't even do a bender in a bun anymore.
