  1. There aren't enough girly musicians in this town so your search must be hard but don't give up, you'll find someone. You could also find someone who wants to learn - crap guitarists sometimes make good bassist's too!
  2. Paying your utility bills regularly and on time also improves your credit rating. I have recently become guarantor on a mates bank account, because he had never had one before, and the bank were being silly about it. Maybe your folks would do this for you on a mortgage? Depends what your folks are like though........
  3. Maybe I'm a he - you never know on this site...........
  4. Just to satisfy your curiosity hunger - I have 2 jobs. One is working at the bookies at the weekend, the other is working in a doctors surgery, securing funding, doing patients electronic records, IT support and data extraction / statistical collation - Though why you would be intrested is beyond me.........
  5. No I just search for all the posts since I was last on the site. That way you can see everything thats happened since you were last here - all in 1 place! (If you haven't sussed it out click search menu then find new posts)
  6. There aren't that many people with known HIV in Aberdeen (2 in every 10,000 according to the stat dept at the hospital). There is no way of knowing the true figure though, the test isn't easy enough to have done as the guidlines say everyone tested has to have counselling (time consuming & expensive). Men are never routinely screened, and women are only offered the chance if they are pregnant but most of the ladies dont take it up. Forget bird flu - Me thinks this could be the timebomb of the future.
  7. I don't have any ambitions to be a solo bass player (I'll stick to the geetar for that) but I've had a couple of goes of said 6-string in R&B, I always think that because I play the Viola that fretless should be no problem, but I can't be arsed with all the brain power or concentration required to tune every note as you play. I could see me drunkenly fucking up in a gigging situation. You seem to be lucky to have large dextrous hands, where as mine are small and arthritic - I'm jealous!
  8. I play in a hardcore metal band - so I don't think so. One of the guys I jam with has a 6-string bass I borrow when I can't be bothered lugging mine down the road - It's neck is wide like a dinner table and I can barely reach over to the b string! I've always that extra top string was a waste of time anyway - I know it's sheer laziness but why play something on the bass you could get the guitarist(s) to play?
  9. I never go into the forums page - I just use the search facilities - so I hadn't even noticed the change! You seem to be speaking an awful lot of sense though.
  10. When I had a rabbit I had a wee harness and lead so I could take her to the park like a dog. You get a few looks from confused people though! On the other note - remember that it is you that are in the right - so dont let anybody tell you different (especially your own concience)
  11. Nuclear Blast havnie been mentioned yet. Oh and Century - they've got a few class bands and they do really well packaged CD's with stickers for your gig bag and posters for covering up the holes in walls.
  12. Thats what I thought till I got a 5-string - now I could never go back! Gone are the days of jumping up and down the neck like an wankstain to get the notes you wanna play, here are the days of playing across the fretboard - hurrah! I've only got little girly hands so it's easier for me to play for long periods of time
  13. This site is just a welcome distraction from work for me, and I don't need to put others down to make myself feel better about myself but If making other people unhappy makes you feel better - you carry on! I'm sure the vast majority of the people using this site are emotionally strong enough to cope with it and the ones who arent - fuck them!
