I feel your pain! Much sympathy to Elwood...... I hated my Sony phone when I had one too - bunch of shit that it was! Used to crash randomly & frequently which involved taking the sim card out and putting it back in 10 times a day - Grrrr it drove me crazy! My Sony minidisk (200 at the time = rakes of cash to minimum wage chick) only lasted 2 weeks past it's years warranty too. On the other hand, I'm still using a Sony turntable my dad got as a graduation present back in 1967 - so they weren't always this shit.......... My advice, get a new phone that works and feel the stress ebb away................. I've got a motorola just now. I suspect it will not last till they give me another free phone but no probs in the last 8 months so fingers crossed..............

I've been in a similar situation - I managed to floor a mugger right outside one of my pals houses. When he didn't get up after 10 mins I called an ambulance for him, stupid junkie fuckwit that he was.........

If you are straight enough to notice the accommodation - youre doing something wrong!....... Who cares where you stay, all you need is somewhere to dump your stuff and crash out if it all gets a bit much. I'm going over in a couple of weeks (8th trip) and every hotel I've stayed in (some cheap some expensive) have been the same. Steep stairs, pokey rooms, rats in the walls, bread & cheese for breakfast. I've mostly stayed round Leidesplein though - I like it round about there. On a diffrent note, I hear they are closing down the coffeeshops and mushroom emporiums as of the end of the year. Anyone else heard anything?

You can buy stuff in a tube which sets like wood - you could just squirt it in to refill then drill. I've used it on a violin before (a lot lighter than a bass I know) but I'm sure it would do the job for you.

Or alternatively, you could buy a graphics card with a TV output for your Computer, then you can plug into any TV you want

T'is true - you don't need to spend 600! I've got a Torque 200W combo that cost me half that (although Torque have gone bust now) and it does me a treat. You can also take it on the bus which is a good feature!
