  1. It's a little way off, but for anyone interested and visiting London at the time, my stage play about life in Aberdeen is at http://www.royalcourttheatre.com/whatson01.asp?play=420 next April. Simon xx
  2. Cartoons are shite now (apart from spongebob) and i think they should all by re-commisioned!!!
  3. Deuchars IPA, no question. Closely followed by Lagavulin whisky and then tea.
  4. I was standing next to the two hecklers and no neither had dreds. Before Fish came on they were a groping a woman next to them and she told the bouncers who knew them and was giving them a second chance. Then they nearly got into a fight with another guy nearby they were pushing into. Then the shouting when Fish came on, they really did do their best to ruin it for me. They both got taken out by the bouncers in the end, one a few minutes after the other. They seemed fanatical fans so why they were doing this was beyond me. They'd already nabbed him on his way in and managed to piss him off then too. Not a great gig in my book, lousy sound, wobbly playing and a rather sour atmosphere. Lack of Fish's usual anecdotes between tracks, it seemed the whole thing had really f***ed him off. I would have thought too that as this was a "Return to" gig a little bit of an introduction to the MC album or memories of 1985 and the stories that accompanied those heady heights would have been nice...
  5. It's funny how differernt your experience is of her, I've always found her to be this very well dressed woman who just says "aye aye" a lot and asks for a quid or to go and get her fags for her!
  6. I discovered Dubstar, loved them, found they were playing Aberdeen the following week, listened to the album loads in preparation for the gig, found out on the night it was cancelled, then they split. Bugger
  7. Mad Maggie on King Street accosted me again the other day. I'm sure we all are aware of her, she hangs about by the cemetary and in a whining voice tends to say things like "aye aye" and "oh boys" as she holds out her hand for ciggy money. She's always immaculately dressed...does anyone know what she's all about. I know she's not the full shilling, jus6t wondered if anyone knew what her life story was, I bet its fascinating!
  8. I haven't seen it yet, but why do sex scenes offend people?
  9. Still not heard it....but they haven't put a foot wrong for me so far.
  10. Agreed to be a random Finnish girl's new housemate.
  11. NOt a bus but a train. I was on a train from Edinburgh once and this girl kept staring at me and it got a bit much after a while,. staring really intensely, she was gorgeous but it was a bit strange, Then I started reading to keep my mind off it and next thing i knew she came and sat NEXT to me. Then she started talking and when I realised she was American it all changed: they are more prone to try to make eye contact and talk to strangers than Brits. She gimme her phone number and well, dot dot dot. Quite nice all in all..
  12. What a great thread, how spotting a Bros lookielikey can trigger off class resentment and fitness nannying. The mullet guy is quality, I've sene him too. The guys that drive the Bluebird Coaches to Portsoy are a mixed bag, there's an English one who is the most miseable sod that ever lived.
  13. DeChristianize did you think up that phrase about hot dogs? Genius!
  14. Jammer, do you mean you have the answer to my original query, ie where was La Dolce Vita? If so, well done! How do you know, did you go to it or did you ask a Seventies clubber?
  15. Yes I bet those vomit vans from Buckei and Forres were equally memorable. I remember a guy from Cullen telling me once the buses back form Elgin on a Saturday night were like riots on wheels.
  16. Oh YES!!!!! I'm with you now! I was in High Spirits a while back, but it badly lacks atmosphere these days. If I'm after a drink in Morayshire I'd rather be in Lossie or Fochabers!
  17. Actually we should ask Fish at the Drummonds gig, he lived in Fochabers in the late '70s and would probably have frequented it! Where was the 2 Red Shoes again?
  18. Thanks fella, much appreciated. Buggin' the hell outa me!
  19. Hang on, you went to the studernt union? But it's shut down!!! Has it reopened or are you talking about the RGU one?
  20. Don't! Its horrible stuff...it's murdering British television. Trisha, I fucking hate that hypocritcally self-righteous woman. Radio in the daytime is far better! Only tv in the daytime I'd go near is Richard and Judy at 5pm for its quaint awfulness and Doctors.
  21. Actually the Union has closed down... F***ing disgrace. The corrupt management of Aberdeen Uni strikes again.
  22. Pete Waterman. Quite apart from crimes against music he is an absolute dead loss as a television personality. He cannot time a witty remark, he has sod all charism and is genuinely unpleasant. Can't stand Simon Amstell (sorry Holly...) or Kate sodding Thornton either.
  23. Nit a venue, but whatever happened to The Placie! It seems to have been swallowed up somewhere!
