  1. Fuck me this is interesting.

And yes the local scene is shit. Those bands you labelled are cack. In fact' date=' I havent even heard of half of them and I know they're shit. Love you too.

Nah Craig I'm headed to Edinburgh probably.

Oh and I have a different email address should anyone else want to get in contact (I've had a few responses now)

    [email']whirlwind.heat.flash@hotmail.co.uk

PS - the X-certs are still shit no matter what you say.

wow am headed to edin as well this summer! My band are situated there! And the X-Certs do suck, hehe

  2. See if you can get a hold of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2' date=' Street Fighter III: Third Strike and Skies of Arcadia. All of which are brilliant games. Both beat em ups are regarded as the finest 2D fighters around[/quote']

I have Skies of Arcadia! It's amazing!! And I love Capcom 2d beat em' ups!

  3. You're all useless. People in Aberdeen only seem to respond if you want to form a "DEFF METAL BAND INFLUENCED BY SLAYER!!!" or a blues band or some wanky X-certs-style band. Christ. No wonder the local scene is so terrible. When was the last time a decent band emerged from Aberdeen that was actually original and not hideously clichd or talentless?

I can't wait to leave this place for Uni in September. I might actually be able to form a proper band then.

Dude' date=' you'll find the same problems everywhere, it's not just "this place". You just need to look harder kiddo. Can't count how many nearly bands I've had, you just gotta keep going till you find something. Also, don't shy away from offers that aren't necessarily your thing. I've tried my hand at Punk & Indie depsite neither appealing to me in a huge way. It gets you out there meeting musicians, some of which may be in the same position as yourself. Ever heard the expression: "Losers give excuses, winners give results" ?

So therefore I'm a winner, wooo, cause my band rape fuckin' ass!!!

  4. Im ashamed of my whole music collection. I cant help it though' date=' the power of shit rock is too strong[/quote']

Blasphemy, it's not shit rock!!!! See this is why I'm more Rock N' Roll than you. I have no shame, hehe

    For me, hmm:

That song with the guy with the piano? "You had a bad day, takin' one down......." etc etc.

Ashamed to admit I love this song. Other than that, all the other music I listen to is ace! ;)

  5. To be perfectly honest I couldn't give a shit. I never use tabs. Waste of time. I work out most songs I want to learn by ear. The ones I really can't get, if I'm really that desperate I'll buy the book or get a lend of it. But I do think this is a load of bull. And to Soundian's post, I think it's illegal to profit from live recordings of covers, but I'm not sure what the stance is on profiting from covers from just a live set.

  6. Hi, I purchased a set of tickets to travel to Edinburgh on the sunday afternoon and return on the monday. I no longer need them (band practice was cancelled, doh!) so if anyone would like to make use of the seats, drop me a line and I'll PM you the reference number and seat details. I don't want any cash, just don't want to see my 8 go to waste.

    Cheers, Andy

  7. I firmly believe that there should be a major fun element in playing' date=' and if that is put over by putting my foot on a monitor, and putting on a stupid fizzer during a solo, then that is just my way of enjoying it. Some people stand there and do nothing - each to their own. [/quote']

Agree with you completely! I love bringin' out all the silly faces when am whackin' out the licks and riffs! It's all part of the fun!

  8. I think you may be doing it wrong. I absolutely love gigging' date=' whenever, wherever. Sometimes I even enjoy soundchecks...

I also love being in the studio, but I don't think there's a choice between recording and performing. To me recording is something you can do [i']while you're performing.

    I concur :D

  9. Never mind Helloween - We've all been listening to them for years. Have you heard the new album by GammaRay? (Helloween's offspring) It rocks man - Go and buy it NOW

Haha, nah! Gamma Ray are decent like, but not a patch on Helloween. I always liked Weikath better than Hansen anyway. I've yet to hear Majectic though, I may check it out soon.

  10. Right just listened to the whole thing via the free preview on Myspace. Well I'm not majorly impressed, but it's a decent, good fun, album. I think it's a big improvement over Permission to Land, but still not quite there. A few excellent standout tracks, especially Hazel Eyes & Bald and the rest of it is solid enough. Overall I'd say it's worth buying and it's a big step in the right direction! I think they're gonna hit the next one on the head!
