  1. Yes' date=' they're using the Propaganda that "Passive Smoking causes cancer" to push through a nanny law. I am in favour of the ban but against the campaign which led to it. There is no proof whatsoever that Passive Smoking can lead to cancer. And... before anyone brings Roy Castle into this.... DONT! Roy Castle [b']assumed Passive Smoking had led to him developing Lung Cancer.
  2. My bird got her passport last month, it arrived 3 days after she sent it through the post office. It was a renewal. You do need at passport to go to the Republic of Ireland as it is outside the United Kingdom. Passports will cost 96 soon, so be quick!

  5. From http://www.rense.com/general33/NEscotlandresidents.htm NE Scotland Residents See 'Ball' UFO Dive Toward Sea By Marc Horne The Evening Express 12-27-2 A mystery object was seen streaking through the sky near a North-east community. A comet-like ball was seen plunging towards the sea off Cammachmore, near Stonehaven. The bizarre X-files-style sighting left residents baffled - but skywatchers believe it may have been a piece of space junk. The Cammachmore "comet" was spotted in unseasonably clear skies at around 10 in the morning. "Myself and my husband were having a cup of coffee when something caught my eye out of the kitchen window," said the woman, whose home overlooks the coast. "We both stared out at the sky and could not believe what we were seeing. The object was heading straight down from the sky and was travelling at some speed." The couple, who did not want to be named, then grabbed binoculars to get a better view. "I can only describe it as looking like a ball - with a small comet-like tail behind it," she said. "My husband is a bit of a plane buff and we both agreed this definitely was not any kind of aircraft." The object then silently vanished from view within minutes. Aberdeen Coastguard were unaware of it. "My guess is that people were confused by the sight of the sun for the first time in months," joked a spokesman. A Met Office spokesman said: "From the description it sound like it may well have been space debris."
  6. A firework? A flare? Couldn't have been much else. And... although the Northern Lights might have been seen in Kincorth, they would have still been in the northern sky!!
  7. Yeah a metro pass can last 7 days and is quite cheap. It gets you on the Metro and TGV trains. Our hotel (Kyriad Brancion) was not too far from the centre, close to the Porte de Vanves Metro and also close to the Perifirique (the ring road that goes round Paris, like the London Orbital). It is handy staying next to the Perifirique as it's much quicker to get to Charles De Gaulle Airport in a taxi!! Book your taxi to the airport the night before you leave!!! We made this mistake and nearly missed out flight. The hotel was also near a corner shop (called Shoppie!), a fruitier, an Irish Pub that sold Guiness!, a post office, a chemist and a big park. Very nice!
  8. Lacoste Red for men Lacoste Pink for the quines
  9. My one has disappeared.... Here it is again
  10. Yes, I would second that. Although, if you're in the centre of Paris, it's hard not to be near a Metro station. Bare in mind that if you're only looking for somewhere to sleep, then you don't really need something too extravagant. Good ideas though!
