Note this is not my actual opinion.

"Digital", "Breed", "Eton Rifles", "Hand in Glove" and "Eternal Life" made my night. That was brilliant!

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest made me laugh, and brought a tear to the eye too

Peavey Microbass, RRP 95, 20 watts, as good as anything for that price and size

Opening with how soon is now? seems to devalue the strength of his own concert for me.

Yes' date=' wrong doers will be dealt with, but by the community as a whole, not by a higher authority, a form of government. Any action taken, and this applies to general matters important to the community too, will be discussed in assemblies where all views are considered.[/quote']
What you would are referring to is actually a form of government, by the people, for the people. Thus what you are advocating is true democracy; government on a national scale. Plus these assemblies would never work; parliament's point is for elected representatives of regional constituencies to represent their constituents. Try accomodating everyone?

I agree' date=' that if such change were to occur, it would first need a massive mindshift on the part of many. However, what is the alternative? That we do nothing? That we just accept things as they are? I didn't say it was gonna be easy.
Things HAVE moved somewhat. Take the anti-capitalist movement for instance - a massive groundswell of dissatisfaction spread across the globe. And what of the Zapatistas? Of their example?[/quote']
Yes the zapatistas are a great example of standing up to such oppression, but im sorry to say what have they achieved? international awareness unfortunately does not equate with real success. They are being forced further back into inequal landshare. Anarchism would not solve the problem either.

Do people think its a good idea for him to play so many smiths songs? Sure its nostalgia but im not convinced...bit like Ian Brown and Joe Strummer playing their respective bands songs too.

Manics gig was been cancelled at Cardiff tonight and Glasgow SECC tomorrow due to James having "bad flu".
Rescheduled supposedly for the 12th of January.
Gutted like a fish.

Probably true but isn't an American Prayer by Jim Morrison spoken verse that features accompanying music by the Doors? It's a tougie but i tend to think that the form of most lyrics would not stand up well when read in a poetic manner.

See' date=' I'm a cool cat and I'm seeing them on Tuesday

Id say Sylvia Plath probably. I dont read a lot of of poetry cos i think prose and short story are far more stimulating...Plath's "Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams" is highly recommended, summin like 3 in fopp. The poetry may be self-indulgent to a certain extent, but you neglect to notice what she wrote was actually how she felt. I dont think you can be so blase when in Ariel for example she compares her father to a concentration camp commandant, simply because he died when she was young. Its ok to sometimes be left thinking "ok, you're so depressed, so what, do something about it" but its not that simple. You cant criticise someones feelings. As for Ted Hughes, he fucked her up bad by cheating on her. I remember reading his childrens stories when I was young, theres some really nice stuff there, and id like to read some more of his adult orientated work.
PS I should really post my Advanced Higher English dissertation on here!

You should get into the Dead Kennedys if you like politically charged punk/new wave.
-
why would they be heading your way? do the cd's have leg enhancements?
No they are shaped like footballs and they are getting headed towards me by a central defender you complete cretin

Psychick Dance Hall is a good 3cd compilation, but "This Nations Saving Grace" is a good studio album. I picked up "Cerebral Caustic" for 2 in Fopp once....

any1 seen anywhere thats got soundgarden tshirts?

when you say atrocious do you mean better than the foo fighters?
Foo Fighters debut album is excellent, and parts of their second album too. When it was just Dave Grohl on his own then you can tell the difference in quality between then and now. All they seem to do now is go for safe anthem territory, a far cry from the angry powerful "foo fighters". But come on, ive heard apocalyptica, surely people with obvious talent for their instruments could find something better to do than cover a metal band? Its interesting but pointless at the same time.
