  1. His kicking is dubious, though. I was raging at him for not passing to Considine or Diamond in order to aid the retention of the ball. Smashing it miles into the gloves of Kernozenko didn't do us any favours. Hang on, that's a superb band name: "The Gloves of Kernozenko"
  2. "Seven" actors Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey team up to cover the albums "Madonna" and "Source Codes & Tags": ...And You Will Know Us By the Mail of Head.
  3. Interpol return with new album BBC-6 today had an exclusive with Interpol's founding member Dan Kessler who revealed in an interview with Steve Lamaq that the band's long awaited follow up to 2004's 'Antics' will finally be released in June. Recording was completed in New York last month and Kessler is currently in London mixing the final tracks. Since their sublime 2002 debut album 'Turn On The Bright Lights' (which was mixed by Gareth Jones of Depeche/Erasure fame), there has been a tendency in the UK to label Interpol as 'Joy Division/New Wave' clones and despite heaps of critical acclaim, the band have been somewhat overlooked here in the UK in terms of actual record sales though they have a worldwide following that is almost as fanatical as Depeche Mode. From E L E C T R O N I C A L L Y Y O U R S I'd forgotten they existed, actually.
  4. Are these wristbands likely to be in circulation when I head into Fopp tomorrow morning?
  5. He scored 0 goals in 4 games for Spain, too.
  6. Yeah, I would get rude with her, we share a love for stripes and she does have an endearing belly. I had a lot of fun, which I don't often say about gigs. The CSS set nose-dived when the mustachioed drummer (Armando...is it?) jumped ship to play bass, though. The opening few tracks, like the album, were storming. My highlight would have to be Lovefoxxx's Triple H impersonation... PS Dave, I'm disappointed you didn't have the courage to text me back and concede your knowledge of Middle Age Scottish history to be schoolboy (if that!)
  7. It's almost unlistenable, but by the time you get to the 1982 stage, there's light at the end of the tunnel. What album would you say is their most accesible?
  8. Does Yousef have a second Regatta waterproof in reserve, in case his main one fails on stage?
  9. I've always thought the food is not bad in the Bassment, apart from when I went once and they couldn't make chili, which in turn had a negative knock-on effect on practically the whole menu.
  10. Wire - On Returning: 1977-1979 Cabaret Voltaire - The Original Sound of Sheffield: '78-'82
  11. I heckled the poor man enough on Saturday night (Dave, the best Gang of Four songs ARE NOT on Entertainment!), though I stopped short of launching chewing gum at his recently-chopped mop. I am tempted to come down actually and sample a bit of Monday night Bassment, however I have to read many an article about Hitler and Mussolini for tomorrow. What are you up to these days though Adam, haven't seen you around in a while? As for the Gun Club being canned, that's hilarious, as it confirms the flyer incident is 100% genuine wind-power related!
  12. I woke up this morning, and, as you do, had a quick swatch out the window to see what was what. Anyway, I noticed a large piece of paper wedged in a bush in the front garden, so once showered, I went out to retrieve it. I was astonished to find that it was a flyer for Moshulu, no less. Considering I live in Westhill (half an hour from the city centre), and that no-one would flyer here (!), it's pretty impressive that it has been blown all this way. I may now pop down to a Gun Club night, so it seems that flyering really does have a far-reaching impact....
  13. Well, what I mean is, will they close an hour early, given that we "gain" an extra hour of the day?
  14. Do clubs/pubs stay open an extra hour tonight, since the clocks go back?
  15. Sold (in advance) to Jan Deal.
  16. You are the band that are 38 stages behind Level 42
  17. "Buzz Aldrin punches reporter" HAHAHAHA

  19. I'm selling a We Are Scientists seating ticket for the Music Hall gig next Wednesday for face value. PM me or leave a reply on here if you're interested...
  20. Well, there is no free bus service from Aberdeen Airport to the city centre, just an infrequent and expensive one, as far as I'm aware. I'm not a taxpayer as you know, but I don't think I'd vote out a councillor on the basis of promoting such a scheme. I'd like to believe that having something modern and extremely useful would outweight the cost factor. As for Stagecoach and First, I think George Mair said he would "assess the situation" about a joint bus centre, to quote the EE.
  21. They should create this transport "hub" (no relation to its university equivalent) that was apparently never brought forward for planning permission when it really mattered; to be honest the bus station at Guild Street is pathetic for a city of this size. First Bus and Stagecoach should be housed in the same complex, along with the adjacent train station, which should have a rail link directly to the airport. The council have to get wise that people require such services in an easily-located and modern nerve-centre. Rather than another shopping mall.
  22. The middle of nowhere, the centre of everywhere
  23. I hate all these pathetic names like "HubGrub" and "Grab-it-Grub". We're not babies, we should be able to go beyond what a 5 year old says when he/she's hungry "Ich Bin Hungrig" would have been a better choice, I think.
  24. Please, come to Aberdeen and let us destroy the rugby-playing hordes from within. As far as academia goes, I study Hispanic Studies, which of course one cannot do at RGU, and it is in the top 3 I believe (don't quote me here) of all UK universities for that particular subject. The language area is really quite prestigious. As for the other half of my degree, History, I have enjoyed it so far, there is a good amount of hard-copy and online library resources, and of course this will expand with the proposed replacement of the QML.
