  1. i would you know :)

    haha - me too.

i would go into internet explorer - tools ->options

select the connections tab and remove anything that's in there (probably ur modem connection)

    then try internet explorer again...

    if that doens't do it:

    start -> run -> CMD

    (little black window opens)

type in ipconfig and post up what it says...

  2. you wouldn't ask your friend 'the plumber' to come and fix your bathroom for free - so why should you expect it from an IT professional?.....

most people will probably give youa bottle of plonk - i'd prefer the money too! :):):).

for good mates i'd do it for free and have done - but for random people i see no problem in charging for a service.....

  3. The lying toe-rags! Air France told me on Sunday that there were technical problems in Paris and so I couldn't fly on the direct flight home; ended up having to go through Heathrow' date=' arriving too late to take the RER home and losing my bags until today!

Glad you had a great time though! I've never been in the Pantheon which is incredibly shameful as my uni is 5 minutes away, and I walk past it 3 times a week. The huge Christmas trees outside the mairie de Ve were ace though! By the way, did you find most things open out of interest?[/quote']

No way? Thats the complete opposite of how they treated us. different strokes eh!

Everything closed at about 4pm on saturday but we went in everywhere we wanted to. (We walked from Arc:eiffel:louvre:notre dame:pantheon:notredame - tube home. i still have blisters) and on Sunday, only some of the shops were open. Sephora on the Champs Elysees has so much make up and perfume and think my girlfriend almost cried.

The pantheon really - reeallly impressed me. It's a shame it's not still used. The pamphlet we have on it says the inscription above the columns reads " from a greateful race to great men" or something of that nature. The crypts underground there are pretty freaky - and it's also cheaper if you are under 25 :)

  4. Cheers for all your points of interest folks, had an absolutley amazing time. The place is just buzzing and everytime you turn around there is something else to take your breath away.

favourite bit: Pantheon - that place is amazing!!.

let down: mona lisa - a lot smaller than i thought

Also cool: pei's Louvre entrance pyramid.

All in all had a great weekend and am looking forward to going back and seeing the bits i missed out!!. totally jealous of anyone that has spent longer than a weekend there.

On a good point - AIr France rock. we were overbooked on Sunday night coming home so they gave us dinner bed n breakfast and 200 quid each as a sorry. ace.

  5. impressive. good job i'm having my suit trousers lengthened today! . 24 and still growing.. ich bin ein freak.

really looking forward to it now. just need to figure out where it is so i can book it tomorrow in person for saturday night :) dinner on the seine and then off to the champs elysees for celebrations!!. (i read somewhere thats where the party is)

  6. lots of food for thought there peoples. I quite like the idea of the boat trip as we could see a lot of things in a limited time. I expect this can be booked fairly easily from hotel or riverside?

Going to fill my day googling all the little nooks n crannies that have been suggested. I think the artists square thats been mentioned could be a good place to recover on Sunday!?!

hopefully it'll be all snowy and romantic too! :) brownie points coming beekers way!

  7. Would like to pick your brains if anyone has been to Paris before and can recommend places to go and not to bother with!. Staying close to the Arc De Triomphe:

Arrive Friday afternoon and leave late Sunday night. Would like to take in some shopping, good restaurants, places of interest. Obviously Eiffel Tower, Louvre, is Notre Dame worth a look?

    Any info greatly appreciated!!

    Cheers folks,

    beeker.

  8. Well actually Africa has Kilamingaro which has snow all year round.

actually thats an untruth now - I think last year for the first time ever there was no snow - just the clacier - which doesn't count. Something like first time in 50 million years that there has been no snow.

    i could be wrong tho.
