  1. I loved it as well till some junkie f*cker crowbarred open the door to my flat yesterday & stole my iPod, among other things.
  2. Why not go along anyway to see & hear something different? You never know, you might like it! See you at The Tunnels then.......
  3. Nah' date=' the Record's April Fool is that Rangers are banning bigots - [url']http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/tm_objectid=15354504%26method=full%26siteid=89488%26headline=gers%2dban%2d%2dbigoted%2d%2dteachers-name_page.html Aye, riiiiight!!!!!!
  4. I don't understand their logic - drink, drugs & sex, which are down to personal choice & don't necessarily others are BAD. Yet, guns & violence, used on others, are GOOD. It's just right wing rhetoric dressed up to appeal to impressionable youngsters. I have no problems with people exercising personal choice - I just feel that using strong arm tactics to force your views onto others is wrong.
  5. To the Daily Ranger? Nah. To straight edge? I'll have think about it over a drink tonight.

  7. Funnily enough, I was out with them in Edinburgh on Monday night..... New CD due this year.
  8. Convenience. I'm into work at 7:45 & I get home after 6pm. I buy about 3 or 4 CDs a week, minimum - I haven't got the time to browse Fopp or One Up during the week & I can't always be bothered to wait till the weekend. And a Dinosaur Jr CD from One Up is the same as one from Play.com - I'm not getting anything different on it. And, finally, 9 times out of 10, it's cheaper. Ideally, yes, it's better to go browse a record shop. Practically, however, it's not always possible.
  9. I saw them at Reading about 12 years ago & I'd love to see them again but really can't be bothered going to London & Download really doesn't interest me. I'll get the reissues, though - they're all under a tenner at play.com which isn't too bad.
  10. sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was starting something there. I've read threads / comments on them before but never really thought about it - was just intrigued after they won that award.
  11. This looks pretty amazing, I'll be there. Gonna dig out that Wire CD & I'll give it a blast tonight.
  12. Press & Journal Article There's an article in today's Press & Journal about the event - http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=149664&command=displayContent&sourceNode=149490&contentPK=12083748 FILM AND MUSIC ARE DOUBLE BILL FOR SHIFT 2 PRODUCTION LAURA GRANT 09:00 - 22 March 2005 A BAFTA award-winning film will feature alongside productions by young film-makers, an acclaimed Scottish skateboarding film, and a modern treatment of archive footage from Aberdeen Maritime Museum at the city's Shift 2 event in the Castlegate this weekend. There will be live music between the series of animation, experimental, documentary and drama films at the free-entry event from 2pm to 9pm on Saturday. The line-up of new music bands ranges from surf and indie rock to electronica and electro pop. A performance by The Kitchen Cynics will get Shift 2 under way, followed at intervals by Nucleotide, Salon Boris, Marcia Blaine School for Girls, Drat and Sound Development Agency, then the headline act, 65daysofstatic. Productions by young local film-makers include Search Engine directed by Hannah Macleod, and The Life and Death of Samuel Johnson, directed by Louise Forbes. These films were the culmination of an intensive experimental workshop for young people at Peacock Visual Arts. London-based Studio AKA, who won a Bafta, will come with a collection of short works while film-maker Monika Dutta will present a piece which looks at the treatment of archive footage on the fishing industry from the Maritime Museum, and a live sonic interpretation by sound artists, Pavlov. The Shift 2 programme includes around a dozen films. Lindsay Gordon, of Peacock said: "A wide audience should again be attracted to Shift with its special combination of live music and the visuals."
  13. Truest statment in the whole thread.
  14. F*cking right I'm serious. Just because I'm not part of a small town incestuous music scene & I don't go around awarding "scene points" to people I know - and don't expcet any in return - doesn't mean I can't occasionally be interested in what 's going on. I'm genuinly intrigued to hear why this band got a the "worst" award at these awards.
  15. who are My Mind's Weapon? who are Dedalus? where can I get MP3s of them? And where can I get an MP3 of this infamous "We've played England" speech????? I haven't a clue who any of the people or any of the bands are in this thread but there's something brilliantly cliquey and hilarious about it all that's making me laugh at it. I'll reserve the right to laugh along with it till I hear / see the bands in question but till then I'll laugh at it.
  16. I can only hope you're referring to LCD / !!! / Out Hud here & not to any of us.....
  17. Can't disagree with you there - the Triptych 15 gigs are a bit too much, especially when you're going to a few of them. It soon adds up. Thee More Shallows look interesting, I'll be along to that. And I'd pay 8 quid just to see Kasule so to see Caribou as well is brilliant. Anyway.... tickets..... on sale..... where?
  18. where you selling them at? Do you have a "regulars discount" like the Lemon Tree?????
  19. They also emailed me on Friday to refund 11.50 to my card - they overcharge me for tickets as there was a "Buy 5 get 1 free" type offer on. If I get a refund for LCD then it starts to take the cost of the whole week down a bit at least.
  20. Yeah, just announced this weekend that they're to play the Slam Tent on the Sunday. If they do re-schedule the gig then I'd expect it to be around about the first weekend in July.
