  1. my goodness, what a silly debate. i have and will always be a nintendo boy, the snes is just great , period. with soo many great games, i noticed noone has mentioned a little game called "super tennis" my oh my i loved that game , not as much as my mum though surprisingly. Granted the mega drive had its moments, but the snes outshone it in a thousand ways, plus the mega drive only had three buttons right? what was the deal with that? no shoulder buttons... pfft!
  2. yeah i know.... i hate myself for not going!! i heard ADF were amazing as well. alas
  3. i heard them on scuzz * cowers* and was actually quite impressed they have a cool sound and lead singer has a cool look about him.
  4. woo weezer nice one, but bit pricey me thinks i didn't go see radiohead cos i couldn't afford it, a decision which haunts me to this day, any chance they could play the deen?
  5. no it was a long time ago, i have fully recovered, however i have had other recent experiences with people throwing verbal and physical abuse my way, and as i said they are all ARSEHOLES and for whatever reason they are doing it, parental abuse maybe, drugs, peer pressure etc. i find it unforgivable.
  6. i have had few ned experiences, one night when i was about 12 me and my friends had been at the cinema when on the way home we were followed by a group of "neds, chavs, peds, bams", one of them started shouting abuse so i stupidly turned around to see what they were shouting at us for. One of the group came right up to me and claimed that his friend had told him that i had been calling him a dick....hmm now here is the the thing, i had had one never set eyes on this boy before, seen any of his friends, said anything to anyone about them...u get the picture. I exclaimed that i had not said anything and actually apologised to him for him thinking i would say that. he then proceeded to say that i was calling him and his friend a liar and promptly hit me in the face more than three times, leaving me with a bust lip, nose and swollen cheek. His group found this hilarious and i heard one of them shouting down there mobile phone that "baz" was beating the shit out of some "fucking fanny". after some abuse and spitting they walked away leaving me with my own blood. now i don't know about u but i certainly felt like the victim in that scenario, and i don't give a shit what any of you say, people who hit me or anyone for no reason are ARSEHOLES! i don't care if their bams or priests, it is not on! the funny thing is you don't know how bad aberdeen is untill u leave, i was in edinburgh recently and was actually surprised to not have abuse thrown at me on a friday night while walking up princess street, this may be because of edinburgh's size and the "rough areas" are further away from the city centre....i don't know. i just wish people like that would go away and not come back.
  7. hmm... I thought Ghostride were a tad on the crap side, although I did think the leadsinger looked like Mowgli from the Jungle book which provided me with a little entertainment. HIFH were pretty good, never seen them before and i was impressed, the sound was a little shoddy at times but they made up for it with great stage prescence. Biffy were the doggies testies, the opener was brill, i reckognised all the songs and although i spent most of the night with my face stuck in the back of a big half naked sweaty guy i thoroughly enjoyed myself, got a bit of crowd surfing too
  8. The 5, 6, 7, 8's were the band playing jsut before the BIG fight scene in the First Kill Bill. They're also in some football advert. They're cool, but they seem to have an impossibly bad sound quality to them.
  9. oh, well thats a little too far, i gave a quick listen to their mp3's , they sound nothing like Buckley...a little dissapointing to be honest, but hey the might grow on me?
  10. Sounds great, but where exaclty is king tuts?
  11. Who cares whether it is battle of the bands or not, we'll all have a good time anyway. it should be a good night good bands, BTW the money raised is going towards the organiser teaching English in Sri lanka, so technically it is not for charity.........sorry
  12. haha they should support us!
  13. no, the void will be continuing with all gigs arranged, however it will be three peice untill july at least. Still damn well worth seeing.
  14. hah, nice. sad thing is i have started writing music on guitar pro, to try and find something to keep me occupied but it just ain't the same as strutting around your room guitar, held high.
  15. anybody have any bright ideas on how i can pass my time having broken my left wrist? I am missing six of the best gigs that the void have had lined up, including our debut at lemon tree. Gar!! what to do?? i'm soo bored........
  16. gees, what a long thread...............
  17. How about you just come to Kef on friday night where the void will be supporting gonga. However following a disasatrous accident i will not be playing, so alex will be stepping in, still an excellent see. everyone must go!!
  18. i'd just like to say that i have played with pure lead before on several occasions and although i can't say that there music is my cup of tea, i can see that they are good at what they do, apart for the purple haze cover they should probably think about dropping that one, also i can say that they are nice guys, well the guitarist with the black hair has always been friendly to us as a band, plus there are very little bands on the circuit who are doing the same thing as they are, 80's hair metal rock dosn't appeal to many people anymore but at least there giving it a shot,no?
  19. I think people need to understand that music is whatever you want it to be, i f u like the sound of a car horn then that could be music to you, don't try to define music lets just all enjoy it, please. and anyway who reads dictionaries, there for old men with skunks for shoes, plus the dictionary that your reading no doubt was published in the 80's.......nuf said.
  20. anybody been to see the "new spinal tap" A mighty wind, if so what are your views, does it live up to its big brother "this is spinal tap", personally i thought it was genius, great cast and its good to see the three boys from tap back in action even if it is with acoustic guitars and a double bass, Harry Shearer was excellent I couldn't stop laughing at him, and "jim's dad" (can't remember the actors name) as mitch cohen was amazing! A mighty wind or a mighty flop?
  21. you can say that again, as much ias i like blade runner, smell the glove the spinal tap film score is fantastic
  22. here here, great film every one should see it
  23. i played with them as well, and i second my friend (above) they are nice guys, and although its not really my cup of tea i could appreciate that they were good at what they did, having said that i havn't seen them for around a year so.........
