I was gutted watching barrera getting beaten...a ghost of his former self. he needs to retire. Khan is so fast, and roach as ironed out the weaknesses in his game. Barrera made a good pint though - the cut was just as bad in the 6th (when it was stopped) as the 1st. So why wasn't it stopped in the first and the outcome may have been different. It wasn't that khan was hurting him...he just couldn't see him coming. Fair play to khan though - as much as i don't like him he's very good fighter.

I think one of the main points people forget, when comparing metallica albums to other metallica albums, is that to compare say 'reload' to 'justice' and say its shite isn't fair... a) different type of music b) just because justice is utter brilliance doesn't mean reload isn't a really good rock album.

I'm not sure what the answer to this question is...sometimes i think they are underrated...people are quick to forget what they have achieved and i all i hear from people is: lars is crap james can't sing trujillio isn't as good as newstead kirk is gay to which i would reply yeah he isn't what the used to be but the drumming on previous albums is immense (justice, s&m and the black album particular highlights). He has managed to push forward the biggest metal band ever yes he can he's better than pretty much every other metal singer there is... newstead ruled. trujillio is still cool kirk is probably gay....so what? metallica are 'over-slated' by A) jealous metal bands that haven't achieved commercial success and B) people won't accept that just because load and reload aren't thrash albums that they are still two of the best rock records relased in the 90s Because they are multi-millionaires and major egos people forget what a good and they are. yes lars is a total prick. yes the naptster thing was band. yes st anger is pretty poor. death magnetic is good, and having seen them at leeds last year - they still have it live. Allbiet less 'in your face and rebelious'

I was watching Peter Kay last night, and chuckling heartily. It occured to me that he is one of the only 'family friendly' comedians who is funny. He manages to make me laugh at something like his memories of children playing in the school playground, where other comeians have to talk about something controversial, taboo, or just rude. interesting. family friendly comedy - discuss.

I'm generally fairly forgiving in other people's shite taste in music. BUT the view disgust me in every way. Liking them is pretty bad. There is nothing to their music that is remotely enjoyable or pleasing to hear. yuk.

I was just using mogwai and oceansize as examples of two british albums that by comparsion to duffy are not pish. For all i care it could have gone to dan le sac vs scroobius pip (also a great album)

if you hd read the rest of my post you would have noticed me actyually saying that i kwo the brits are for pop. My point was just that it really highlights how stupid the brits are and they stand for nothing in terms of good music. On that note though - are the brits really meant to be just for pop? The brit awards should surely be for all british music...i mean maiden got an award?

the whole thing was embarrassing really. For duffy to get best british album, when the two best british albums by a country mile were frames by oceansize and the hawk is howling by mogwai is just ridiculous. Not that i was expecting either of those two bands to win because obviously the brits is about pop....but it just gives the public a terrible impression of what actually constitutes good music these days...
