Yip and you get distracted by the flash of light from their mobile (I have been with people who have texted....fit?! but then I find these are mainly youngsters who can't keep away from the buttons!)
I've been to recitals at uni where the music is so quiet, you can actually hear the noise of somebody texting above the sound of the performance, aaaarrrrrgggghh!!

oh quality, cheers guys. 45 a side was the one I was thinking about.
any other ones that are doing tape?
-
as in cassette tape?
I don't even own a tape player anymore...
I know, it's a bit strange isn't it/
I had to look at the ancient lots-of-bits-stacked-together stereo in our livingroom to check that I still had tape decks!!

Hey folks
I heard there is a new album from a record label that is being released only on tape..?
I think I saw news of it on jockrock or something but I can't remember which label it was. Or indeed where to get it.
Maybe someone from One-up could enlighten me...?
Cheers

lol that's ace

I can see why he got so mad after reading that...
I think under those circumstances I would have probably thrown a right wobbler at that DP guy. OK, it might not have been a four minute tyrade but I wouldn't be happy at all.
Isn't it natural that you would be pissed off if you are concentrating on something that much and some fanny comes along and messes it up?

My little girl is six in July and desperate for singing lessons - I agree with you so in a few months I may contact you. Where are you based?
Hi
I am on Great Northern Road, near the Haudagin roundabout.

Hi
No teaching qualifications, just experience of teaching and qualifications in music.

Just wondering what age range you would teach, would you teach children and if so what age do you think is best for starting?
Hi there
I have experience of teaching children and have Enhanced Disclosure. I would say that it would be best to start lessons at about 6/7/8 years old, just to make sure they are genuinely interested and their attention span isn't too bad.
As a teacher I would have to adapt my approach for young children. You have to be careful not to strain the voice as you only have a small vocal range when you are young. Lessons would be half vocal technique and half learning about rhythm, reading music, improvisation, etc.
cheers

What qualifications/experience do you have?
Hiya
I have ABRSM Grade 8 singing with Distinction and Grade 5 Music Theory. I am a choral scholar with the University and just about to finish a BMus Music Performance specialising as a 1st soprano. I play sax and sing with two local covers bands which play ska and funk/soul. I sing a lot each week with university choirs and concerts. I am planning to sit my Diploma in music performance this summer.

Bump!
Lessons are up and running for anyone who fancies.
I can take payment via paypal for those of you who want to book lessons in advance and get it out of the way while they have just been paid.
I'll do you a deal: five 1-hour lessons for 40 (save 10).
Cheers

that's a shame, I haven't been but I fancied going this year. I can understand why they don't want to take the risk, at least they are trying to protect people's jobs.

great band, they totally rocked at dhc

Bebo is far too buggy now, facebook and myspace is the way ahead imho.
I'm really intruiged by this aberdeen music facebook-y thing, though I am quite geeky when it comes to computers and interwebs.
-
a classifieds system sounds pretty cool, i'll just do a post every now and again for now
cheers

How about having an option where people can have a permanent place on Aberdeen music where they can sell their wares?
I know this would involve a fee of some kind, but I would do it in order to big up singing lessons. Maybe a couple of others would be interested a wee shoppie? eg. Biz and his drums.
Cheers

Beyerdynamic Opus 155 Mk II Set. VHF Wireless System
consists of Beyer NE 100 S VHF Reciever and Beyer TS 100 Mk II Transmitter mini XLR
The set is still under manufacturers guarantee until July 2009. I bought this from a European site so it has European plug, but I have a Europe-UK plug adapter that I will include in the sale. It also comes with a small vocal microphone that you wear as a headset. This came in handy for a singing gig with Sumisumi where I was walking around while singing, or as someone described it 'robotic shuffling'
Also selling:
Beyer Opus 82.18 Clip-on condenser Mic. 4-pin mini XLR connection, which works with the Beyer transmitter.
This is a gooseneck mic, I have been using it by attaching it onto the bell of my saxophone. It would be ideal for any woodwind or brass instruments who fancy being wirelessly miced-up. Still under guarantee until July 2009.
Both mic and wireless system have literally only been used a few times for gigs.
Wireless system cost me 215, mic cost me 125, 340 in total.
I would like to sell them as a set to minimise hassle, so I am asking for 270.

Too right manny, just wasn't the same with all the funcy special effects.
Bring it back with the tiny-budget charm that we all know and love.
