  1. Mike L has some. Maybe he will sell you one. There will also be copies on sale tonight at the Tunnels. We are playing at the Tunnels.
  2. Bill Ely & the Catnips' second album, Three Coils Around the Rat, is now available to buy from One Up for the reasonable sum of 4. Two-man fuzz guitar & heavy drum attack. 12 songs about threats, people and history. Staggeringly crude artwork. You really can't lose. Two tracks can be heard here: www.myspace.com/billelythecatnips Available to purchase online soon, if you hate shops and are willing to wait. Thanks. Bill Ely & the Catnips
  3. Only just noticed this thread. Bill Ely & the Catnips then: You asked about instrument thickening methods for two piece act. I use an Epiphone Dot run through a Big Muff with a particular leaning towards bassy tone. That is my solution. It sounds sick, imo. Also, Hugh plays his drums really really hard. Examples of this cruel sound can be heard here: www.myspace.com/billelythecatnips Incidentally, our new album is out as of today. Three Coils Around the Rat, available from One Up. Plus we're playing the Tunnels tonight. Enough plugging. Thanks.
  4. Bill Ely & the Catnips! Just got confirmation from Hen. We're looking forward to it.
  5. A screening of a selection of short films, each around the 10 minute mark, made by local talent (or anybody) and featuring some sort of narrative-driven story. No meandering art-wank. Final bill still to be confirmed, but will likely include: Contributions from Donside collective (comprising members of King Liar & the Brutes, Bill Ely & the Catnips) A documentary related to the local music scene Direct from New York, special guest film-maker Stephen Levinson The astounding 'Bedshitter' Sure to be a unique night, most likely never to be repeated. And free entry too. Don't let me down.
  6. In a bid to give our set a festive slant, for one night only we will be Bell Ely & the Catnips and perform all of our songs using three bells each. My bells ring E, A and D. Mike's bells ring F#, C and G. There will be no singing.
  7. Bill Ely & the Catnips recorded a particularly cruel version of 'Last Christmas' the other day. If you would like to hear this beauty uglied-up, go here: www.myspace.com/billelythecatnips
  8. bluesxman: did you notice that the footage is also running backwards? Look how Mike creepily pulls his sticks away from the drums. Biz: we're on at 9pm on Saturday. Mr Stick Twiddler has returned home, and should be present with dark London stories to tell. Thanks!
  9. A video for Heavy Metal SS has been assembled and it sure is crass. If you would like to look at it then I recommend you go to this page right here. On that very same page you will be able to listen to an old but newly-posted song called Dog Kidney, as well as others that have already been up for a while. If you would prefer to hear fresh new songs, then you should come along to the Moorings this Saturday or the Tunnels on the 21st. Either that or just wait until we release a new CD (January?). I hope you find this information useful. Thanks.
  10. This is good to know. I have already experienced radio confusion and shop confusion. On Friday I will be halfway healed.
  11. For those who are interested... Our recent Elvisness set was captured on tape & has been largely transferred to our Myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/billelythecatnips Result: 4 new mp3s and a video for your enjoyment. The video was filmed in night-vision so our suits look green. Maybe you like that sort of thing?
  12. 2 on the door, colossal dance floor: that's Club Reagan. 3 on the door, reasonable dance floor: that's Club Snafu. Tonight you can attend the latter and be told about the former, but only if you buy a ticket from someone. Mr Onion has some, I have some. Hang around out front if you feel dangerous, go straight inside if you can't bear it.
  13. I meant to attend this. I did not attend. Bad news for me.
  14. Off topic, but still fresh news that readers of this thread might find interesting: On Thursday 25th May, Bill Ely & the Catnips will play at Drummonds fund raiser between 8.15 & 8.45pm, then hightail it to the Tunnels where they will play from 9.00 until 9.30pm in support of Goldblade. Why not run after us & shout for help? There's a serious risk of police intervention, that's why not.
  15. Nope, it will be true Bill Ely & the Catnips. We will be treating the music with respect and are currently working on song interpretations that, while retaining the power of the originals, introduce a new level of Cajun bile. We are very excited about the whole thing.
  16. "Wings To The Bird, Fangs To The Beast", Bill Ely & the Catnips' debut album, is now available from One Up. 18 studio-recorded tracks of Cajun punk that run the gamut from gutter-tramp knife pop to toxic sub-metal, this is one CD that you will want to listen to again and again. And for just 4, you can. Every copy has been individually daubed in a unique arrangement of colours by the band. It's a pretty good deal. For more information, investigate: http://www.myspace.com/billelythecatnips If it's more merchandise you want, we recommend: http://www.cafepress.com/billely Thanks.
  17. Bill Ely & the Catnips new album 'Wings To The Bird, Fangs To The Beast' will also be available at the Moorings tonight. The album consists of 18 tracks of loud & varied Cajun Punk, our selected favourites from the 57 songs captured during the session. We can confidently describe this collection as sick and, in places, cruel. There are shouts, sings, drums and guitar. The whole lot can be yours for just 4. Incidentally, 'Wings To The Bird, Fangs To The Beast' was recorded by eric euan's very own Ox. He succeeded in capturing 100% bile, which is a singular feat. Believe it.
  18. No way! Only the Jesuits can achieve such a feat. Nevertheless, I will watch and hope. I could really do with a 30 minute blast of attack. I fucking hate decay.
  19. Volvo Death Spell sounds incredible. I can not miss this. What time will you start making noise?
  20. Los Caballeros will play 45 minutes of surf/instrumental music at Drummonds tomorrow night at 7pm. There will be fast drumming and loud guitar. Maybe this sounds good to you?
